This is the 6th time we have been , and gets better every time , lovely staff , perfect location and not full of drunken stag parties , was a perfect week. Ours kids are now 18 and they had as much fun now as they did when we first visited and they were 12 years old.

My wife had a hip replacement in December and we were looking for a short haul flight from the UK a flat easy walking area and access to bars and restaurants. After some research this hotel seemed to tick all the boxes, the availability of rooms with two double beds and the availability of the “ Level “ package were the deciding factors.
Some of the reviews are slightly misleading but the Level is a separate lounge, both indoor and outdoor where snacks and drinks are available from breakfast time until 10 pm. Included are beer, sherry, martini, cava, red, white and rose’ wine, soft drinks and coffee or tea. In addition spirits such as whisky and gin are on offer between 6 & 8pm. It is all on a help yourself basis and unless you have a large appetite the food is adequate for lunch, thus saving significantly on your overall holiday costs, after all Puerto Banus bars are not cheap.
When we checked in it appeared that a Jet 2 holidays had failed to action my request for a room with two double beds, nevertheless we were referred to the management desk, also adjoining the Level lounge and the charming and handsome couple on duty made the arrangements, many thanks to Giulia and the gentleman concerned. Sleeping is a major issue after a hip replacement and this could have spoilt our holiday.
The room is spacious with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom. The room servicing is exemplary with none of those irritating notes about use of towels, in fact two bath towel replacements a day has been the norm. The shampoos, soap and body lotion provided is top notch.
Breakfast is excellent with a wide choice and pots of coffee brought to the table, the room can be a tad noisy although Spanish half term may well account for part of that.
The outdoor seating area is spacious and sheltered with the beach only 50 metres away and a lovely promenade walk to Puerto Banus in a matter of minutes. Bars and restaurants abound and beyond the designer boutiques of the marina there is plentiful mid budget shopping.
We had an excellent dinner in the buffet restaurant but thought it pricy at 40 euros a head, although the show cooking steak for me, pork for my companion was very nicely done.
A meal in the much vaunted DOM restaurant was disappointing, perhaps we were unlucky? However, the service was faultless and I was not charged for my main course.
Would my wife and I return? Yes in a heartbeat, lovely hotel, lovely location, lovely staff.

Level lounge 👌amazing, good selection of local wine, Cava beer and non-alcoholics. You will find all day long diverse selection of snacks depending on time. You also can have breakfast in the lounge which I highly recommend, it’s much more calm atmosphere and selection of fresh cut fruits is much better than in the main breakfast restaurant.
The rooms are comfortable, you have everything you need, and if you book the family level room 👍your kids will be very happy about all the stuff they’ll get. as it’s still winter time our first room hadn’t any sun, so we asked for a more sunny room. How the team handled our request was like in a 5 star hotel, within a few minutes, no extra charges.
DOM Restaurant, Andalusian restaurant, good food but nothing if you want to opt for vegetarian or even vegan options. For me it was too oily, very heavy, so the next day I was literally sick. When it gets crowded expect long waiting times.
WiFi is very good at all locations indoor and outside, even on the way to the beach!👌
Kids food, we missed definitely food options for kids, in the lounge, at breakfast or in the menus, some classic kids food like Pasta or Chicken nuggets. We ordered noodles (rice noodles without the chicken) from the room service for our daughter, a too big portion for a child and charged the price of the normal adult dish.

Arrived at the hotel with great expectations. Parking is free outside the hotel if you can get it on a fcfs. There is parking to the rear of the property. Beware there is a massive raised concrete slab in the middle of the road at the parking bays and saw many vehicles smash their car into it. The sensors on the car don’t pick it up.
Check in was quick. Bellman was really helpful and polite. After arriving at the room, the views were of the said car park. Try to avoid these rooms at all cost. There is a entrance gate which can be accessed up until 01:00am so there will be a lot of footfall traffic as well as cars from the car park idling with music on.
There was an option to upgrade to “The Level” for a fee. This was well worth it. Although the room on “The Level” was smaller than the original car park facing room it was more luxurious and quieter being on the 5th floor. This room had a balcony with spectacular views of the swimming pools and the restaurants. Sadly the early morning sunbed grabbers operate at this hotel.
There is an adult only swimming pool on the property however this is much smaller than the main swimming pool. During the lock down it was just perfect but can imagine it gets extremely busy after the lock down is lifted and people begin to holiday again pre Covid.
The Level offers complimentary alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks throughout the day as well as snacks and selected drinks from 6-8pm. Breakfast can be eaten in this private area on the ground floor with views overlooking the gardens and pool. Breakfast in the main restaurant was decent with the usual eggs to order, fruit, pastries etc.
Pool bar service was of a decent standard but if you order French fries, tell the waiter to tell the kitchen staff not to put mountains of burger sauce all over the fries. It was unbearable especially if not requested.
Overall this property is a 10/10 for me. Everyone was helpful and polite and the room was magnificent with Rituals’s toiletries in the bathroom. There is a car hire company onsite via a telephone service however this needs to be tweaked a little. Car hire can be done up until 15:00 for the same day car rental to start. After this time, the new start time will be the next day. There is a taxi rank directly outside the hotel. Puerto Banus is a 10 minute stroll away. The nearest bus stop to Marbella town centre is at the bottom of the road near to the motorway and takes around 20 minutes.

Lovely stay at the Melia Marbella Banus. We booked a sea view room on the level so we could use the level lounge and had breakfast there. The breakfast choices were less than in the main restaurant opposite but the staff went to get your eggs or anything else you required and brought them to the lounge for you. We checked in in the lounge and you were treated very well. There were snacks and drinks all day ending at 10pm and the lounge shut at 11pm.
The bedroom is pleasant but I found the bed a bit hard for me. We stayed in the hotel 7 years ago where the bed we had then was so comfortable. Obviously the beds vary room to room or they have changed the beds. They provided a topper on the bed which helped. They also provided on request memory foam pillows which were great.
The bathroom was well appointed with a bath with shower and also a bidet in addition to the usual bathroom facilities. Nice toiletries provided including liquid soap, hand cream & shower gel.
The staff were all very helpful & friendly.
My only criticism is the corridor from the lift to the room on 5th floor (the level) is very functional. The other floors are the same. White walls and old fashioned flooring. They should consider upgrading the corridor on the level floor to reflect the extra you pay.
The hotel has several swimming pools and one was open which was impressive in March. Nice pool towels provided.
The position of the hotel is fantastic you can walk to the port and shops from there and it’s only 30-40 minutes to Malaga airport.

Initial expectations were high. Pictures of the hotel were promising and despite the price for the weekend, being a Melíá, in Marbella, everything looked like the best choice.
But it was not.
Definitely, this hotel should be out of the Meliá hotels portfolio since it does not align to the Meliá standards.
Overpriced for the services offered. That would be a first conclusion.
At check in, no sign of welcoming mood except the concierge alerting the staff behind the desk that they should charge me for the parking. (Sorry, it is not my style to use services without paying. I already had informed the reception that I would use the parking)
The offered "premium room" with sea views, had a view to the open public parking with zero concept of "premium". Low cost furniture and not well maintained, elements of the shower were missing (replacing those parts would mean nothing in terms of costs), and not a single bottle of water for an almost 280 EUR/night room. They said that it was not the policy of the hotel to offer a bottle of water to guests in the room. First time I face that policy in a Meliá hotel.
Only a pair of slippers available whilst it was a double room. Most probably the previous guest took one of them and no one cared to replace it.
The layout of the hotel is like a hospital, with unfriendly corridors and soulless decoration.
The Level should be renamed as the "low Level".
The swimming pool area with very few umbrellas available and the area of "adults only" was simply a joke.
Basic breakfast, with no one available in the kitchen and again, stained chairs over the place.
Forget about getting any benefit from the Melia Rewards programme. I declined the late check out when they initially wanted to charge me for that and once they realized that I was a Meliá Platinum member, they started to use the excuse of availability. So, thank you but I gave it up. No need for charity.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. When I read the positive comments by other guests, I have the feeling that I stayed in a completely different hotel.
Being used to the Meliá standards, definitely the Marbella Banus does not meet such standards.
The marketing strategy worked well: Nice pictures, location in the glamorous Puerto Banus, high price to show a sign of status but in the end, a low class hotel.
I just paid for the bill and left (and yes Mr Concierge, I paid for the parking, do not worry for that), regretting my choice. Lesson learned.
Interesting that Meliá has not even sent the normal email with the survey after the stay. That is an objective sign that they do not care too much about customer satisfaction about that hotel.

We are extremely sorry that we failed to meet your needs and fulfill your expectations and about the fact you did not have the pleasant stay you deserved. We are sure that there must have been a misunderstanding regarding the issue of parking, probably the consierge just wanted to let the receptionist know that we had to registering the car. We really apologize if we have given you another impression about that. Do not doubt that we take very seriously all the comments and suggestions we receive from our guests and we work day by day in order to keep improving our hotel and service. We will appreciate if you may reconsider to give us another opportunity to welcome you again, in order to provide you with our best service and recover your trust in our hotel. My husband and I have just returned from a weekend in Meliá Marbella Banus.
We have stayed in that area many times but this was our first time at Meliá. We were totally impressed with the whole hotel, although it was quiet season the whole hotel was perfect.
We booked a Level Room (garden room) and would definitely recommend access to the Level for drinks / snacks all day! We didn’t make the most of it but what they had on offer in the lounge was fantastic! Then drinks in the evening 6-8pm was a great addition, although we were quite happy with beer / wine / cava that was available all throughout the day.
We only ate in the hotel for breakfast but it was great, lovely selection. I am gluten free and there was a specific GF section with bread, muffins and croissants.
Location wise it’s excellent, a short walk into the marina at Puerto Banus (5 mins or so) and short taxi into Marbella centre. We walked along the coast one afternoon which was lovely but did take over an hour- which we were fine with.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and we can’t wait to go back hopefully this summer!

We stayed at the Melia Banus for 2 glorious weeks. We had no idea what a great decision we had made choosing the Melia. We stayed for 5 night's in Nerja prior to arriving at the Melia, and loved it, but were ready for a larger hotel.
We were warmly greeted on arrival, but were a little upset when advised our reservation was not quite what we had booked. Within less than half an hour, we were told it was all solved and they were able to provide us with the sea view room we thought we had booked. They then proceeded to take us to the 6th floor, to a lovely room, with a huge balcony and the most wonderful view of the Costa del sol coastline and the surrounding mountains. Every morning we woke to an amazing sunrise, all day sunny with blue skies.
The bonus at this hotel is the wonderful Staff who will happily take care of anything you may want while staying with them.
The service in the level is nonstop with beverages, wine and beer and super snacks, enjoyed inside or sitting in the sun. Lots of guests to meet and share your daily adventures with over a drink at cocktail hour. The breakfast in the main restaurant is endless and will fill most peoples needs. Similar in the level, smaller choice but fresh and delish and so much more peaceful. We did not eat dinner in the main restaurant as we wanted to experience other restaurants close by. We did have Dinner at the D.O.M, which was was superb and would highly recommend guests try it. The service was superb and the food excellent. We also attended a special evening at the D.O.M, that was presented by a local Winery and the restaurant. It was the highlight of our Spanish dinners. From champagne cocktails, wines paired with the most wonderful dishes, and top notch service. Thank you it was a wonderful night. My last shout out is to The staff in the Level who completed our vacation with their friendliness, service and generally every day care. Juan thank you for the room, and always there to help us. Giulia, Iraa for your booking our trips and daily smiles. Guillermo your service at the lounge was top notch. Thank you Melia Banus, we are sad that Covid-19 has hit Spain so hard and do hope you are all safe and will return to your work before too long. We also hope we will return to visit you all one day

We have stayed at this Hotel many times over the years. Since our previous visit the Hotel has been refurbished to a certain extent and has gone up market but the quality has gone down. When we arrived we had issues with the bedroom which should have been addressed by the cleaner. The bedroom had been refurbished but not so the bathroom which in places was dirty. Breakfast was a buffet which was adequate. Unfortunately our waiter was not conscientious about cleaning the tables between usage. The evening buffet was again adequate but at 39.50 euros per person it was totally overpriced. We walked into Puerto Banus and had an excellent dinner that had been freshly prepared for us for the same price. On all previous visits Cava was available at breakfast, but not this time. This Hotel has gone down in our estimation and we will not be using it again. Some staff had face masks on some without. Covid has not gone away!!

Just returned from this hotel and not impressed. Booked via Jet2 for two friends and myself to stay for 5 nights half board (not a Level room) to celebrate my big birthday at a cost of £2550. Called both Jet2 and the hotel in advance to confirm that we would have three ‘proper’ beds i.e. not a camp bed for the third bed as we’re not spring chickens and like a comfy bed. When we arrived, the third bed was indeed a camp bed! We had one mug, two glasses in bedroom and two in bathroom, two dressing gowns/slippers, two chairs on balcony and two in bedroom and very few hangers. Basically, despite paying for three people, these rooms are set up for two people. We complained and received the extra items but had to put up with the camp bed (hotel refused to change) and moving two chairs back and forth from the balcony to the bedroom depending on where we wanted to sit as hotel refused to give us any more chairs. Rooms themselves are very basic and our toilet broke three times in the five days we were there. Bathroom definitely needs an upgrade as very tired. Some of the staff were lovely and others not so friendly. We were in room 208 which has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and restaurant area. After I complained, we were given a slice of cake with three spoons and a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday. Nice gesture but didn’t make up for the problems we were having. Breakfast was ok but quality of food served for the buffet dinner was awful and the dining room felt very canteen like. We basically ate and went as it wasn’t conducive to sitting and relaxing over your meal. We swapped dinner for lunch on our last day and it was beautiful. Not buffet style and almost felt it was cooked in a completely different kitchen to the food served at dinner. We made the best of it as we love Puerto Banus, but personally I wouldn’t return to this hotel and couldn’t recommend it - well not for more than two adults in a room and not for half board. Jet2 need to reconsider selling this hotel for three adults in one room or at least stress third bed is a camp bed.
