This hostal offers cheap rooms. But I must say its directly above a disco with loud music. Also my room was not cleaned during my stay, the bed was not made, and I had no towel to wash the second day. The 2nd day also my name didnt appear on the list for room although I paid 2 nights on... more
Stay away from this hostel! Although the price is quite interesting, this was by far the worse hostel I've ever been to! The rooms are dirty, the sheets/bed smell funny, the furniture in the rooms is outdated/broken/stained and the bathrooms are very unkept. The rooms at Hostal Castilla are very tiny but they are ok, the usual kind of accomodation you expect in a hostal, nothing flash just functional. Our showers were nice and hot. The location is really excellent, right in between Plaza Mayor and Pueto Del Sol, and they had free wifi in the room, which was great. HOWEVER.... this would... more
I stayed there with my wife for 4 nights. Room price was low and staff was ok. But the hotel description was quite misguiding. First I doubt anything in Hostal Castilla was "recently refurbished", unless 20-30 years is recent past. Second, I had a totally different understanding of clean, well equipped and comfortable rooms. The best thing: The hostal had internet access and free coffee and tea anytime of day. Of course, they had intermittent hot water in the showers, beds that felt like Chuck E. Cheese ball pits, filthy floors and drunken yelling at 5 am, but its a trade-off. more
I am at the moment staying in the hostal and have found it incredibly non-friendly. I was told yesterday by a member of staff that i was not allowed to take coffee cups to my room due to theft, which i thoroughly respect.
