We stayed in the Dona Carlota the first week in August 2006. The Dona Carlota is a residential accommodation with some of the apartments let out to travel agencies, it is a quiet complex and first impressions were good. The gardens are beautiful and there is a swimming pool and snack bar on the grounds. The snack bar is very reasonable. The apartment that we had (a one bed) was basic but did have a microwave and believe it or not a working washing machine. What it didn't have was Air Conditioning, which in August in the Costa del Sol is a MUST. A fan was provided by the maid but this was of no use unless you sat with it 2 inches from your face. The location of the Dona Carlota is excellent - a 2 minute walk to the beach and La Carihuela. Pity about the Air Conditioning - this ruined things.
