To describe Casa de la Abuela as a "hotel" is wrong - there is no 24-hour staffing, no restaurant, no washing-up done for you, not much breakfast provided (toast and jam - nothing cooked). It's a sort-of bed and breakfast, where they supply the linens (including nice robes for dashing to and from the bathroom), make the beds every day... more

I booked Casa de la Abuela with extremely high expectations--by all indication, based on the pictures and reviews, the B&B was quite a charmer and at a great price. The actual experience was far less than we had hoped for. Finding the hotel was not easy--the buses we were instructed to take were extremely confusing; the one we got on... more

Casa de Abuela souded very nice with all the reviews I’ve read before trying it out; however there was a major flow (in my opinion) nobody mentioned – the maid/caretaker is a chain smoker. I am very sensitive to tobacco, so the smell was a great bother, because it lingered through the whole house, and it is hard to air... more
