The Pension was in a very busy location, and there was a lot of traffic on the street in front. The room itself was a reasonable size (for a European Pension). The place was quite clean, the bathroom was small and a bit sour smelling. more
We had a lot of trouble finding a place in San Sebastian - the hotels there are very expensive and the reviews were all awful. We found this place at the last minute and loved it though it was pricey too. My 24 year old daughter and I stayed two nigths at Pension Aldamar in September encouraged by the positive comments in this page. I have to say that we made a perfect choice (thanks tripadvisor). Aldamar was the only reasonably priced Pension available for the time we wanted to travel. But there were no online reviews. We took a chance and booked it anyway. Just back from a fantastic break in San Sebastian. The best thing about the Aldamar is the location. Its just beside the old town and very near the beaches, the centre of town and the kursaal. Its near everything really. The rooms are very clean, small but that is what you would expect from a pension. The staff are helpful... more
