We stayed for 3 nights in July 2008. The hotel is lovely and deffinately a 4*, but it does have some downsides. It's about a 10 min walk to the Gros area of San Sebastian and 20 mins to the old town. The hotel is situated on a fairly busy main rd, so those light sleepers may want to be... more

We had a very nice stay at this quaint little hotel. Very nice staff who helped us find some great places to eat. 15 minute walk from downtown but we couldn't have been happier. more

Definitely one of the best hotels we ever stayed in - stayed there in Sept 07. 10 minutes walk from the beach and another 10 minutes to the old town. On a bus route that has buses every 5 minutes. The building is great, the staff couldn't be more helpful, towels for the beach, restaurant booking, travel advice. The breakfast... more

Saw ad in Alister Sawdays book about places to stay in spain. It gave the impression there was a large lawn, which there is but at the front of the hotel which backs onto a busy road and is the place guests park their cars...so not a place you would like to spend any time. Hotel building and furniture is... more

My boyfriend and I have just returned from Villa Soro and had a fabulous time. We arrived late on Friday night and were welcomed by very friendly, hospitable staff. Room was extremely comfortable with outside garden/chairs. We hired bikes, ate breakfast in the restaurant and just loved the place. After 4 nights we were sad to leave. Would definitely recommend... more

We were originally booked at the Maria Cristina but were put off by the iffy reviews as of late, so we tried this place based on its high ratings. It seemed a bit pricey, but Conde Nast Traveler had it on their 100 Hot New Hotels list last year and they are usually spot on. It is a stately former... more

Unfortunately we only stayed here one night. I wish we could have stayed a week. It's a lovely place to stay, the staff was very accomodating and helpful. The rooms were great, wonderful beds, linens and little patios. The breakfast buffet was good with a large variety of foods. It's outside of town but we walked to town and all... more

Jenny and myself recently toured the Basque country of Spain and France and ended with a five night stay in the Villa Soro San Sebastian/ Donostia. At first we thought the hotel pretentious as it claimed quality but did not provide a restaurant, comprehensive breakfast bar or even pool and gym facilities. On reflection we should have seen that their... more

We stayed two nights in this hotel at the start of September. We wanted something a bit special and were prepared to pay over the odds for this. However, we found the staff to be apathetic and at times standoff-ish. I asked one staff member for a glass of wine in the bar one evening and it felt like it... more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in September 2006. It's perfect -- a little way from the center of town, it's quiet and beautiful. The room was large and very clean, with a patio outside where we could take breakfast. The bathroom was also large, with a nice counter, and a separate shower and bathtub. The hotel staff... more
