Viaggare_low_cost gets it about right. The Mimosa is affordable, quiet, occupies a stoutly built old Mallorcan house in a sea-side residential area and is run by a laid-back Swedish family. It is possessed of a swimming pool and terrace and a bar frequented by rather seedy ex-pats, but they are no bother. Fellow residents tend to be bookish types on a budget and yacht crew between engagements.
If you are looking for somewhere away from the bustle of the main drag but a moment's walk to the sea and convenient to the city centre (maybe fifteen minutes on the frequent bus service); quiet, affordable, clean and private but with minimal mod cons, this is the place for you. The rooms are...well, 'monastic' is probably the word, with stone floors, basic beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers, dilapidated en-suite lavatory and shower and that's it. But they have views over the rooftops to the sea, and an admirable lack of intrusion. Some rooms have balconies.
