what can I say, staff were clearly tired, as was the hotel, however the room was very nice, with a great view over the town, we slept well, but arrriving at breakfast at 9o/c it looked like a plague of locusts had beaten us to it. I would not stay there again. more

Staying at the Alfonso VI was like living in Dante's Hell. The staff are rude, rude, rude. The beds are concrete. It is impossible to sleep because every single noise in the hotel can be heard, magnified. The breakfast buffet is inedible. Indeed all we had on the second morning was water! Avoid this place. more

It is right at the top of the town at the Alcazar and every day you've got to climb back up the hill to get to it. The 'Medieval' theme hides worn out furniture. Food leaves much to be desired. No toiletries left in rooms - you have to keep asking for them. Four star rated but no better than... more

Rooms are old, deteriorated, decoration ugly, personnal not friendly, more than a four star hotel, I felt I was in a "Pension". We ended up staying here at the last minute. The staff was very accomodating and pleasant. It was an outstanding location, right next to the Alcazar. Very charming shops and restaurants within walking distance along with cathedral. The rooms were very charming and great accomodations along with great views. I would definetely return here! more
