The linens had a totally funky smell. They were clean, just stinky. The room was small. Hard to get around the bed. It was so hot in our room that we could hardly sleep. The thermometer said “don’t touch.” So we suffered in crazy heat. Location is close to town and the price was very reasonable. Parking was good.

The hotel has a big campus and that is attractive. Otherwise it is an average hotel. The rooms are of medium sized but the bath rooms are clean and spacious with limited toiletries. The bed sheets and towels are not clean.Breakfast has limited choice and not as expected, the service is good though. Noise is very less and the hotel is in a huge campus. No coffee/tea making machine in the room.

Firstly, this is a good hotel, but not four star. The staff are all very helpful, the parking is good and reasonably priced, good breakfast. The breakfast room, is huge with a long, badly laid out breakfast bar, cereal is the opposite end of the room to the milk, toaster opposite end to the butter. Our room had a hole in the ceiling, broken tiles in the bathroom, torn curtains, and the aircon control was hanging off the wall. The hotel is 30 minutes walk from the city, in commercial area, good shopping mall next door. The beds were very low and in dire need of replacing.

For the 4th time we have stayed over here. We both enjoyed the excellent value meal at 16 euros per head for 3 courses. The hotel is on the south side of Salamanca so ideal if you are heading that way but only 1 minute from the bus stop for the old city if you are staying to see the sights. Once again we wonder how they can cater for 150 doctors , as they did tonight, and still turn out such a good meal for us two. The staff are lovely and friendly and the hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the Roman bridge for the pilgrims. PS it has a pool, gym and spa and the room cost us 49 euros because we booked in advance

An indifferent hotel. Service OK. Location towards city center inconvenient (best take a taxi). Architecture miserable. Parking OK. Breakfast fine, sort of. Probably best if you are here for business.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, good value menu of day. Short Bus ride into town from across road, or you could walk in 30 mins. Next to shopping center and more shops near by. Free off road parking in front of Hotel or underground garage available too. 3 course Menu of day 15 euro but didn't change in 4 days we were there but Good buffet next to cinema in shopping center next to Hotel.

Do not stay here. Bedbug infestation. No refund when we complained. My sister and I arrived from staying in separate places in Madrid (she was holidaying with her boyfriend and I had left my husband at home) excited to be having a few days together. We arrived late and went straight out for dinner, heading straight to bed on our return. When we woke up the next morning, there were spots of blood on our sheets and we discovered lots of small red bugs (we both confessed to the other that we had each seen one on pulling back the covers the night before, but had thought little of it as they were tiny). The more we looked, the more bugs we found - see photo. We went to reception to report the problem (not realising that they were bedbugs) and were moved to another room without questions. The next night, we slept in different bedclothes to be on the safe side, but woke up the next morning covered in bites. After some internet searching, we realised it was bedbugs, so packed up and headed to reception. Not only did the Hotel Manager on duty, Susana Cartón, not apologise, but suggested that we had bought them in. Given that both of us had been staying in separate places in Madrid and had no problems, but then saw them in the sheets of Hotel Horus (on both single beds), the chances of us having brought them in was slim to none. We asked for a refund and she refused, then ran away leaving her staff to explain that she would not give us a refund. Angel, the member of staff who spoke to us, was very apologetic and embarrassed. He helped us get a taxi to a new hotel, where we have been careful about keeping our bags locked in the bathroom and not sitting on anything. We will be boiling and dry cleaning and hoovering everything when we get home. The Hotel Horus clearly has a problem. The fact that guests were still staying on the same floor as the problem the day after we reported it means that many more guests are likely to have picked up the bedbugs. It was a disappointing response to a common problem, which could have easily been resolved by offering a full refund and getting pest control in to tackle the problem quickly, as well as moving other guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone from the way that this problem was dealt with. I am disappointed that I have had to join TripAdvisor in order for my voice to be heard.

We loved the hotel as it is just next ElTormes, a big shopping mall. Most of the shops there closed at 10pm. The bed has long pillows, which is very comfortable. A wooden stool is provided in the bathroom. Wifi is provided free of charge. However, operating the air-cond can be quite tricky. We feel the air-cond is not sufficiently cool for summer climate. One has to turn a knob by the bed and not touch the air-cond controller. (see photos) As we cannot read Spanish, we went to adjust the air-cond controller. Suggest the hotel management provide some instruction in English.

This is the second time we have stayed here, both times for 2 nights en-route to Santander in the car. We love Salamanca and is our favorite city in Spain, but the problem in this city if you have a car is the parking. This hotel has free parking but the biggest plus is that the local bus stop is directly opposite the hotel and with buses every 15 minutes, and then every 30 minutes until late, who needs a city centre location? The journey takes 10 minutes and what a view of the city it offers, and the fare is only €1.35. The hotel has a swimming pool which after a few hours walking is a great asset to help cool down. The staff are very helpful and the rooms were good, although the air condition was not that brilliant but was adequate. The breakfast which is included was good although limited choice. We will come here again.

The furnish in the room looked quite old. The comfort of the bed was still acceptable. Luckily the bathroom was much better. It was quite clean & didn't look old (except for the hair dryer). The food at the hotel restaurant was very disappointing. We had spaghetti & roasted chicken with French fries. The chicken taste like those had been frozen for very long time. (Taste like chicken nearly to its expiry date). The bread tasted nothing but hard like a rock. So if you have a choice, choose other dining option to avoid regret. We took a coach that brought us to Salamanca's Plaza mayor. It was really an interesting place to visit. After spending whole day for sightseeing, we arrived the hotel quite late (nearly to 9pm). We knew there was a shopping mall next to the hotel. However it was already closed by the time we arrived. The weather was chilling in the next morning and I could see snow on top of the plants just outside the hotel parking area.
