Upon first arrival to the road leading to the hotel, you may think you have stepped back in time and question your decision to book here, but once Neil and Iain have welcomed you to their home, that thought will soon pass. This place is a special find for the unpretentious. Set amongst the hillside overlooking a beautiful valley, this... more

First thing that you notice about Hotel Masai Sumidors on arrival is the beautiful, tranquil location with views over the green Catalan hills. Our room felt authentic but stylish - kitted out in tasteful, antique style furnishings in keeping with the area. The room, bathroom and rest of the hotel was clean and comfortable. A relaxed honesty bar and shaded... more

My wife and I honeymooned in Catalonia, staying in 4 hotels. Masia Sumidors is a hidden gem nestled in a national forest about 10 - 15 minutes from Sitges and about 20 - 30 minutes from Barcelona. It is a repurposed 400 year old farmhouse sitting on the side of a hill\small mountain with all of the history and charm... more

..if, after wending your way slowly up it's dusty hillside track, you can first set your eyes on Masia Sumidor without saying "wow" (or words to that effect, anyway) you win! Beautiful and serene, the other reviews say more than enough: we give it our thorough recommendation too! more

We have just returned from a memorable and relaxing trip to hotel sumidors. When we arrived we where greeted by Neil and Ian, who showed us to our rooms (the africa and music room, highly reccommended), and then left to get on with our own thing. Even though every review on tripadvisor dicouraged taking young children, ours throughly enjoyed it,... more

For a hotel hidden at the end of a mile long, pot-holed track - more suited to being traversed by horse or donkey than by car - it comes as a surprise to see so many reviews here, which only goes to prove you can't keep a good thing secret. Situated by a vineyard in the Garraf National Park, this... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-July having found the hotel through the Sawdays website. Masia Sumidors more than lived up to expectation - yes, it's a little lived-in and eccentric but it feels so personal. Ian and Neil were great hosts. The atmosphere round the bar and eating area in the evening was friendly and relaxed - if... more

A great place to escape the crowd. The hotel is located up the hill, accessed via a mile of dirt track from the road. On arrival, it feels like arriving in a friend's house in the country. has the shabby chic feel to it, nothing too glamourous or pristine. The pool and the honesty bar in the garden is a... more

We stayed at Masia Sumidors for 3 nights at the beginning of August. The first time you drive up the twisting unmade road to reach the hotel is somewhat 'hairy' but you get used to it after that. Sumidors is a lovely 400 year old farmhouse set on a hillside amongst trees, shrubs and vineyards but only ten minutes drive... more

Beautiful location - tucked away in the hills, the secluded pool overlooks the peaceful landscape. And it's a short car journey from the pretty beach town of Sitges. Charming hotel - the rooms are full of character, with stone floors and big wooden doors. Friendly hosts - Neil and Iain are lovely and very helpful if you want to know... more
