The Melia was a lovel hotel. It may have been a wee travel out of the main part of the city but this was fine with us as there where shops and cafes near by - as well as a hop on/off point for the tour bus - which I would highly recommend. It never seemed a struggle to get... more

I really enjoyed my two night stay here. It is outside the main tourist area and is about an E8-10 taxi ride to the center. The area is a mix of business and residential and seems safe, although Barcelona is famous for pickpockets and purse snatchers. So leave your wallet in the hotel safe, carry one credit card and limited... more

The decor of this hotel is good as is the restaurant, but be warned do not plan to stay at this hotel with younger children. I was attending at conference with my wife and two children aged 10 and 12. We requested via the conference organiser, a double room with an adjacent connecting twin bedded room, and accepted the reservation... more

The decor is nice -- that there is no question. The fact that they nickel and dime you on everything else is ridiculous. I understand that the spa is connected to the pool and that is extra. No problem there. But, when they say on their site that they have free wireless internet (and keep in mind, this is a... more

Me and my boyfriend spent 3 nights in the Melia, the hotel overall is very nice, staff were nice when we arrived and left, but couldn't fault them in anyway as we never really had to see them any other time as we were room only. Room was nice, but could've been a bit bigger as there wasn't much room... more

The Melia is a good hotel, the rooms are high quality and the staff are cheerful and helpful. It is well placed for the city tours but a taxi ride from Las Ramblas (approx 8 euros). If you must go to Barcelona then this is a good place to stay, if you don't have to go then don't. Robbery, bag... more

This hotel is very clean and modern. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and surprisingly pretty good size. I had a king-sized bedroom and definitely did not feel cramped in. I slept comfortably, noise is not a factor. Great shower! The hotel's location is residential but is within walking to distance to key spots. Avinguda... more

We just got back from a 3 night stay in the Melia Barcelona. Got a very good deal on hotels.com £230 for 3 nights including bed and breakfast!!! First impressions of the hotel are excellent as the check in area is very posh and has a modern feel to it. The location wasnt too difficult to get to by car... more

This hotel, unlike our previous Melia review (Athens), bettered our expectations. The hotel is large and modern in deco. It’s location, from other reviews, isn’t what everyone expects. It is away from the touristy centre but not in a bad location, we actually preferred it. You can walk into the old centre (maybe 20 minutes) and there are a lot... more

We just got back from Barcelona. We stayed there for 4 nights, the staff (including the cleaning maids) were very helpful, breakfast was great. There are nice shopping mall just few blocks away from the hotel, it is true that this is hotel is not right in the center, but since this is a nice and safe area to walk,... more
