My partner and I stayed at San Remo in May 2009 for several nights. The hostess (owner?) is pleasant and easy to deal with. My partner had stayed at San Remo two years earlier and so we stayed there again based on his positive experience then. The area of the hotel is very pleasant and safe. It's located in the... more

Avoid the San Remo Restaurant Pizzeria, within or adjacent to the Hotel Benidorm on Las Ramblas. We ordered the "seafood paella special", and it came with dry, undercooked rice, which wouldn't even pass for fried rice. Terrible attitude and service. Sangria was watered down, and salad was 2 wilted pieces of lettuce. They are seriously out to cheat tourists for... more

I booked this Hostal because I was originally interested in Hostal Goya, they are not available for my two intended nights (Feb19th to 21st), so they refer me to Hostal San Remo. I was a little skeptical before I went. It turned out to be a good surprise. I took the Aerobus from BCN and got off at Placa Catalunya,... more

My husband and I stayed for six nights, in May 2008, in an external room. The hostal is located on the corner of two very busy streets. Despite wearing ear plugs we were unable to sleep because of the traffic noise. After three nights of disturbed sleep we moved to an internal room. No traffic noise but our sleep was... more

Stayed for four nights. Room was lovely and clean, comfy with a balcony for those warm Spanish days. Owner doesn't speak any English, but is helpfull and attentive. Dog is soooooooooooooooooooo cute! Free Internet access a bonus. Location simple to find with a good map. A fair walk to Las Ramblas and other attractions but we stayed mostly around our... more

Location was just a few blocks from where the Aeroporter bus drops you off in front of El Corte Ingles department store at Catalunya Plaza. I thought I'd then need to take the metro to Urquinonya to get to the hotel but now I see that would have been silly; it's really not far even with luggage. At the main... more

I stayed here with my 20 year old daughter for a 3 night city break - the service was unobtrusive but helpful when required, the location was excellent, central but just outside the noisy areas, the room had its own small, but perfectly adequate, en suite facilities and was exceptionally clean with fresh towels daily. Internet access was available at... more

I can say that this is the best city accommodation I have ever had in proportion to the price. All hostels in city centers have some noise, small rooms, and basic facilities, but guests here are expected to be quiet in consideration of the others. My room was cleaned daily, was well cared for, and was perfectly comfortable. If you're... more

Very good location. I found the Hostal quiet. (there would always be some level of noise) I used air plugs for sleeping and did not hear a thing. Maria; the Host/Manager was quite helpful. From this Hostal it is a comfortable walk to the main area Las Ramblas and other main streets. Exceptionally clean. Bathroom is a bit small but... more
