I found about Hostal Goya through Trip Advisor's Barcelona Guide and I was not disappointed. I had to book just one night prior to my stay and I was lucky that there was still a room available. The booking was smooth and very personal, as the receptionist (Eva) remembered me the next day when I arrived. The hotel couldn't be... more

The hotel was very nice- clean, good location, nice hot showers, etc. Our only problem was the noise within the hotel. We could hear every footstep in the hall, voices late at night and early in the morning, slamming doors... it was hard to get a good night's sleep. However, the hotel is a great value, and I would still... more

If you don't want to stay in a hostel but are on a budget, Hostal Goya is a nice simple place with clean modern (but I'll say simple again!) rooms, stylish bathrooms, free internet / computers, and a quick walk to Born or Las Ramblas, just 1 block from Placa Catalunya. A great choice! And I love their cheap espresso... more

Probably unbeatable in terms of value. IDEAL location, literally steps from the centre of town, Plaza Catalunya. This was really helpful, since I took the aerobus to and from the airport and it picks you up/drops you off right at Plaza Catalunya. Also easy to walk to many major sites, or hop on any major subway line. The hostal occupies... more

My fiance & I spent two nights here last week and were very very happy. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable & spoke English. I felt very safe at the hostal & it was in a great location. The cafe across the street had amazing chocolate croissants too! The room was very clean, although very tiny. The A/C was broken,... more

I enjoyed staying at Hostal Goya, all round a great place & good value. • Convenient location, just off Plaça de Catalunya (where the Aerobus drops you off at when coming from the airport), and just across from Urquinaona Metro underground. • Very clean and funky, modern rooms. Beautifully designed, nicely decorated and new looking. They are simple though, so... more

I've never met such helpful staff as Hostal Goya. The location is totally central but quiet enough off the main areas to get a good sleep. The decor is just like in their photos. Compared to [where I am staying now] it is a fabulous deal and perfect if you're a single traveler at nearly the same price as a... more

After spending hours carefully researching where to stay in Barcelona for 6 nights , we chose Hostal Goya. We were very careful to ask for airconditioning, being August. When we arrived, we were met by Eva who told us we were not getting airconditioned rooms - "didn't we receive the email?" which of course never was sent. We not only... more

Management response from
hostalgoya, coordinadora de servicios

Although we think she's right in her complain, there is some nuances to point out: 1) Honestly, we did not advise of the ac problem to this customer, we did to all the reservations coming in August and we failed with this reservation. We apologise for this. 2) Instead, we decided to make a discount on the night rate and...

The rooms are clean, decorated in a contemporary style, and quiet. There is a living room with free coffee/tea and internet access. There is a 24-hr reception and the staff was nice and willing to help with any questions. The hotel was located two blocks away from the Plaza Catalunya and easy access to the metro. more
