excellent location at a few steps from the river and the rambla, with a very good parking and a kind staff. the hotel has rather a long story - look at their vintage pics in the lobby - and is being continuously refurbished in such a way to look a bit cool, but quite in a traditional mood which was... Went with 3 other friends from University days (long ago!) We wanted to see and do as much as possible and found this hotel really central. Staff were extremely helpful and we will all stay there again should we return to Girona. We did not actually use the restaurant so cannot comment on it. More

Stayed for one night . (Single room 401) was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was gleaming and had a shower over a small bath. The room was not over big and was a bit dark as the window only looked out over another wall, but hey, I wasn't in the room during daylight hours. There was a wardrobe, bedside table... More

An excellent hotel situated centrally and within walking distance of many areas of interest. Excellent accomodation and helpful staff. Fast trains to Barcelona make it possible to make day trips if you don't mind the extra travel. We stayed in a cold and dull February but still enjoyed exploring the city. Would definitly want to stay here again. More

Stayed for a week-end break in August. Great location, reception very nice, but stairs leading to first floor - very shabby with threadbare carpets which let down the nice entrance. Rooms basic, chipped paint and generally shabby. Breakfast poor, restaurant smelt musty, tablecloths had not been wiped, bit off a put off! We just had coffee and went elsewhere for... More

The Peninsular came with positive reviews so was anticipating a pleasant change from chain hotels given it's homely look from photos. The reception is nicely decorated, however I was disappointed with the room itself. Old beds with paper thin linen, with little in the way of furniture. The bathroom had a shower held up at waist level and there was... More

Smack bang in the middle of old town Girona, great location. Rooms were fine and, because of the rolling shutters, it was very nice and quiet. Airco was very cold very quickly. Bathroom was ok. Only stayed here for one night to explore Girona and this was a great location. Nice touch was the two computers downstairs with free internet.... More

The foyer looked promising but the rooms were primitive and rudimentary. Very clean and tidy, just no personality. We had a triple, plenty of space. All ok, just not memorable. No parking close. More

When our car was towed away from a city centre car park the staff at The Peninsular could not have been more helpful . They made several phone calls for us and arranged a taxi to take us to the pick up point. Excellent service with a smile . More

Everything turned out positive, the location is superb, close to the Gothic area, close to the main street : Rambla de la LIbertad, it is at the same time at walking distance of the train station. A pleasant 15 minutes walk. Breakfast was really very nice, the bar area is pleasant. The hotel has 2 entrances on two different streets... More
