I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid September with my husband and we really enjoyed it even after a disappointing initial impression given the close proximity to a working port. The hotel has 3 large salt water pools which are a real bonus and were being used even though weather was cold and wet. The breakfast was... more

We went for a week in this hotel and we liked it very much. The rooms are lovely and the swimming pool area are great. There are about 4 or 5 swiming pools at different temperatures and with sea water, and one of them has spa which is lovely. There was quite a lot of people as the swiming pool... more

Having stayed at several 5* hotels throughout Europe, you have certain expectations of what to expect. On arrival we were greeted by a receptionist who came across as grumpy once he realised that we were not fluent in Spanish. We checked in - in complete silence, we were not made to feel welcome and were not given any assistance with... more

Fantastic hotel. It's very close to the city center, but wuite, you only see the sea and hear the cries of the seagulls. The staff is kind and helpful, has a huge heated swimming pool and a nice spa close by .One of the few -european-hotels with a valet parking service I've seen. Very good bargain prices. more

I would rate the hotel **** except for the service, particularly in reception, which was a superb *****. "Can do" without being sleezy. more

We stayed at the Hesperia earlier this month during a business trip to A Coruña. The staff, while no one was fluent in English, were very helpful (my Spanish is very beginner). My room was lux and spacious enough to feel comfortable in. And I really liked how in the afternoons, gummies and Cava were placed in reception to enjoy.... more

We stayed in a family room at the Finisterre. Usually this means two interconnectiong rooms, which allows plenty of space for three young children. At the Finisterre, it was more like a suite so the childrens room was smaller and the youngest had to be put up in a make shift bed on the sofa. It all worked fine though.... more

In October my wife and I spent a week at the Finisterre, staying in a junior suite. The room was really nice - spacious, comfortable and elegant. We had a large bedroom, a big sitting room with sofa and desk, a dressing room, a small area with a wash basin and another with a bath and toilet. My wife thought... more

We stayed four nights here with two teenage children. The rooms were slightly small and the hotel was quite ugly from the outside. Apart from that we found it pretty good. The bed rooms got hot for some reason - the weather was dire - and we had to use the air conditioning. The restaurant had a splendid view and... more

I'm not sure this hotel merits its 5 stars, but overall it was reasonable value by UK standards. It has a great location, on the waterfront and next to the heart of the old town (where there was a medieval market every night when we were there). As others have reported it does lack atmosphere and warmth from the staff.... more
