La Salle is located within the old town & only a 10minute walk from the cathedral. La Salle has superb facilities, launderette (much needed after walking the camino) free wifi & a large lounge on the 3rd floor with tables,chairs & sofas and drink/snacks vending machines.
We had a newly renovated room which was more hotel standard than hostel. It was large, spacious, clean & comfortable. If you go through the car park it leads to the museum of modern art, the resturant do an excellent lunch/dinner which tastes & looks beautiful. The set menu (three courses & a drink) for only 11euro each!
The staff at La Salle are very warm and extra friendly, I would definately recommend staying at La Salle & if I return to Santiago I would not stay anywhere else. more
