We have just returned from spending 3 nights at this hostal in Santiago de C (plus 2 nights in A Coruna).
The weather was very damp (even for Galacia) but this hostal was a ray of sunshine. We paid just over €120 for three nights which even at the current exchange rate is excellent value.
The exterior is not very promising - but do not let this put you off. Although very close to the Parc Alameda and all the bars in Rua Franco is looks a bit tired. You enter the first floor reception (in fact the whole hostal is on the first floor) between a couple of "local" bars (both excellent and friendly)and an entrace to an underground carpark. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but are very comfortable with firm beds, wooden floors, wide opening windows (we were at the front overlooking a car park) and a more than adequate bathroom.
