If you're for a clean, budget and very central location in Madrid I think Hostal Galaico is perfect!
It's on the Gran Via (close to Calle Montera) and the family that rules the hotel is very kind. Just don't know if they speak English (I think they do) because I'm good at Spanish and always had a very good chat...
