The noise is deafening. Blast the fan, put a pillow over your head, buy earplugs ... these will not be enough. The non-smoking floor has ashtrays in the room. I asked the desk why, and the guy said, "In case anyone smokes." (It smelled like smoke.) A couple of good things: there is plenty of light for reading, and the... more

The hotel is in an excellent location. Within walking distance of many historical sites as well as restaurants and bars, as well as shopping. Felt very safe. Very close to the metro which is very easy to understand (color and number coded). Hotel staff was helpful. Breakfast meal was very good and staff was very pleasant. Wireless internet worked fine... more

The hotel is conveniently located 2 blocks off Gran Via and a 5 minute walk from Plaza Mayor. There is a supermarket and department store right around the corner. Also, there is an Avis car rental within 5 blocks. We took a taxi from the airport which cost us 40 euro…too tired after long flight to take the shuttle or... more

The hotel is located in Puerta de Sol in Madrid. It's centrally located & steps to shops, restaurants, Gran Via and the metro stop "Sol". The hotel was the typical European. We were there for 4 days. The bathrooms were very clean, not small like in Paris and there were radiators that provided heat for the room. Linens were clean... more

We loved this hotel, it was a great location, close to one of the main Metro stops in Madrid, "Sol". From "Sol" you can go pretty much anywhere. Its about a 10 min walk to Plaza Major and lots of great shopping nearby. It has a bustling nightlife but we had a room on the 5th floor with a huge... more

Great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is too expensive, so recommend getting breakfast elsewhere (like around Sol for like 4 euro deals). The rooms are clean, don't expect anything special, but has all the necessities (hairdryer, aircon, some toilettries, daily room service). Very quiet inside, even though you step out to a bustling... more

We've just returned from a two-day break at this hotel. The hotel is situated in a very convenient central location standing in a terrace of other commercial properties. It has a good deal of charm about it. The Hotel's own website is out-of-date as regards travel advice. You take Metro line 8 (pink) from the Airport as far as Nuevos... more
