We stayed at El Palacio for 3 nights in June. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast every day (breakfast was included). Food was very good. The main, public areas within the hotel were nice. However, the small room was dingy although the bathroom was nice, albeit a bit smaller than I am used to for a "5-star"... more

Spent one night in room 255 after having traveled throughout Spain. This was the best hotel of the trip. The room was large with a substantial sitting area. The bathroom has a large tub and seperate shower with two shower heads. On the top floor their is a large gym with top notch equipment and a helpful staff. We had... more

We had a great stay at the Westin Palace. TO be honest, we only stayed there because we got a great deal on HotWire (normally it would be out of our price range). We were really happy with everything. The room was nice and roomy (2 adults, 1 child and an infant). The staff was extremely helpful, 5 star!!! We... more

The hotel itself is quite nice, a large and luxurious old building in a good location. The staff are young, pleasant, friendly and helpful. The rooms are standard to any Westin/Sheraton I've been in, lovely marble bathrooms and standard furnishings. The beds are their heavenly bed, and they are very comfortable. There were some issues with our room and the... more

I just returned from a 2-night stay at the Westin Palace Madrid. This was my first trip to Madrid, and I booked my room over the Starwood website for a pre-paid visit (which included breakfast and a double-basin marble bathroom). This is exactly what I received. I took the metro from Madrid-Barajas airport in the early afternoon (EUR 2.00 one-way)... more

Except for the fact that this hotel is not that close to a metro station, this hotel is ideally located for tourists visiting Madrid. It is a short walk from the Thyssen and Prado Museums as well as Retiro Park and the tapas joints in and around the Plaza de Santa Ana. In addition, old Madrid, including Chueca, La Latina... more

I am an SPG Platinum member on an award stay for just one night. I was upgraded to a deluxe suite. The room was huge. There was a large entry way and the double doors into a huge living area with several windows on a large circular wall overlooking the Plaza de las Cortest. The living room had a half... more

My partner and i stayed in the Westin Palace in March for the Real Madrid v Liverpool Champions League game and wow what a hotel!!! The location was perfect and Plaza de Mayor (the place to be to experience the football atmosphere) was walking distance. There were some lovely little bars in the back streets of the hotel that served... more

The main strength of the hotel is its location, right in the middle of everything. Close to the business centre, but also nicely located for art-lovers and going out. In terms of facilities and condition, it's more or less what you would expect from a 5-star hotel, without any surprises. The rooms are spacious and cleaning is meticulous. I resented... more

the good: beautiful building. great location. impressive lobby. helpful staff. clean rooms. comfortable bed. place has a nice vibe. the bad: expensive (if not paying with points or business account) -- can find comprable hotels for much less cost. elevators are slow, primitive and need to be replaced. rooms facing courtyard have terrible view of hotel rooftop or equipment. more
