I don't understand where the four stars were earned, but certainly not in soundproofing. We had to move twice in two days because of the noise from the street (partying in front of the hotel until 07.00 am, and the noise in the hotel itself (partying on the 6th floor that made the keys on the table in our 4th... more

We reserved three rooms, a twin and two doubles for (unfortunately) the night of the Madrid - Barcelona football game. When we attempted check in, for close to an hour, the desk staff was challenged by only having set aside one twin room. Subsequently, they found a second twin at the Senator about two blocks away. The following morning when... more

Staff WERE helpful and friendly (and we had no Spanish). Breakfast was more than adequate - kept us going 'til well into the afternoon when we boarded our flight home. The room could have been bigger, but there was still a lot of space; and the bathroom was large. The Metro being so close helped with our travel about the... more

The best thing about the BW Santo Domingo is its location. It's one minute from Grand Via (one of Madrid's main shopping streets) - and 30 seconds from the superb Madrid Metro (the station is actually called "Santo Domingo"). The hotel is also very nicely decorated and my room was kept spotlessly clean. So, if you want a well located,... more

I only gave it one star because non was not an option. Rooms are like shoeboxes and I dont just mean the size, I think the walls are cardboard may as well be open plan! 4* hotel hmmmmmmm. I have stayed in better hostels. staff are miserable no tea and coffee facilities in the room (probably could not fit the... more

This hotel is in a perfect situation for exploring Madrid. Walking distance to the Gran Via , Puerta del Sol and Royal Palace . Metro Station immediately outside hotel for links across city to Prado etc. Many bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. The downside is that I wouldn't rate this hotel as 4 star. The walls are paper... more

There is no way this hotel should have a 4 star rating. The reception staff was unhelpful, unprofessional and unsmiling (apart form the bell-boys). The buffet breakfast was very average and highly over-priced with poor quality orange juice, no bottled mineral water and no freshly-made coffee. Better to go to a nearby cafe/bar for breakfast. On the plus side, the... more

The hotel was convenient if you wanted to stay near the Gran Via. As it was for only one night, it was reasonably priced and had an Airport Shuttle service, we chose this hotel. Had I known that the Gran Via was akin to Times Square of the 70's, I would have chosen a less "exciting" part of the city.... more

We stayed in this hotel, the localization is good, but is not a 4 star hotel, still the price was cheaper than some 3 star in Madrid... I just have 2 complaints: 1. the room was tiny (even for european standards) 2. the window looked to a "inside garden" no natural light or even natural plants And the decor wasn't... more

We stayed here for four nights from 24th March, 2007. Hotel location is excellent and it has a metro station opposite entrance. Pl. Santo Domingo is a building site at the moment so pedestrian access is difficult and dangerous. Our room was small but very well furnished and comfortable and the bathroom was a good size, clean and modern. The... more
