El Cason is located in a seedy part of town. A couple of blocks from Gran Via, but not clean or safe. Directly across the street from the hotel is a large, multi-storied, vacant building that homeless people congregate. The city has tried to evict and close the building but nothing has happened yet. The hotel itself has some worn... More

The location is central and close the to Metro and a range of shops and Mini Markets. The hotel is VERY clean the staff VERY friendly and helpful. The room was not huge and where the hotel is not modern sound from other guests could be a problem if you are a very light sleeper, HOWEVER if I return one... More

I stayed here for a few days while in Madrid on my own. I was waiting in Madrid for my gorgeous, beautiful girlfriend, Tiny, to return to Madrid from Malaga where she was sunning herself and enjoying the seaside with Abu Maria. The room I chose was a smoking room. It smelled pretty bad, like stale smoke. I never expected... More

Pro: good location, just 50 meters away from Metro. Hotel staffs are nice. The reception guy is very humourous. I like him. He is the best receptionist at the hotel during my trip. Many resturants and super markets around. Con: price is a little high but good location you cannot complain to much. the shower pressure is low.

Would highly recommend this hotel if you are ever staying in Madrid. Good location very close to Plaza de Espana, streets in vicinity a little run down and the view of concrete wall did not impress but apart from that we only have positives to share. Nice, clean and fairly spacious room with a stylish bathroom. Our lights kept tripping... More

I recommend this hotel with the caution that the street is really unattractive – our window faced several poorly maintained and perhaps on abandoned building. That said, the street did not feel unsafe, and the hotel is just a few short blocks from the Plaza de Espana and the Royal Palace. The rooms are tidy and clean, the beds comfortable... More

Cason del Tormes is a very nice hotel, very well maintained and clean and certainly worth the 3 stars. In the morning you can enjoy an extensive breakfast with fruits, cerials, several kinds of bread, cheese, ham, eggs and some typical spanish items. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a nice and modern bathroom with shower. The beds are... More

We chose this hotel as a base for our first visit to Madrid, based on the recommendations of other TripAdvisor members - unfortunately we can't confirm all of their positive comments. Basically the hotel's main plus point, the central location, is also its downfall. Yes, it is on a normally quiet side street just off Plaza de Espana and Gran... More

There is nothing much wrong with this hotel, though the Plaza de Espana is not very alluring. There is a nice cidreria on the corner. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in Spain (100€ a night for a single). The rooms had no fridge, minibar and even if the street is a backwater it is still pretty noisy:... More

The hotel is close to Plaza de Espana and la Gran Via, but on a quiet side street, therefore we had no problems with noise. The room is not extremely spacious but not tiny either, and the bathroom was more spacious than we expected. The breakfast was adequate, the customer service was excellent, and the hotel was clean. Would highly... More
