We had a wonderful time at this hotel. I had read some of the reivews before we left and was a little apprehensive. However, my husband and I stayed there for six nights in April and found the sataff to be courteous and very helpful. We paid 20 Euros a day extra for an upgraded room and the money spent... more

We have just returned from Long Weekend staying at the Tryp Ambassador, we weren't originally booked in at this hotel, but were placed into this after our previous hotel overbooked, so I was very apprehensive after reading the reviews on this website. But we were really pleased with this hotel, it’s a 2 min walk from the tube station. Don't... more

I just checked in and immediately logged in to post this review because the check-in clerk, named Beatriz, was so rude. When I asked her why she had to enter all of our passport information into the computer, she said it was to combat terrorism. Then she started to lecture me in a very condescending way about how Spain has... more

Ok, I'll get the good bits out of the way, there is a nice breakfast buffet and the hotel is pretty much right in the centre of Madrid. The reason I give the hotel a 1 star "terrible" rating is that on our last morning we got our stuff ready so we could check out after breakfast then went down... more

hotel was average in price for area. Hotel had a 4 star rating, but a upgrade was required to get this room at this star level. Rooms given to hotwire were in a sepearte wing of hotel, and decor had not been refurbished in sometime. My room had a chair that needed be thrown in the trash. Maid service was great.... more

I previously read a few of the reviews. Most of the comments are dead on. Here are some of my comments to add: CAB FARE to hotel (from MAD airport): For us, I think it was € 35 [because of the additional person (I think) and a tarrif]. I did not leave a tip. Also, when we left our hotel... more

We were a bit appresensive about this hotel, because of some of the negative reviews. What a great suprise!! We liked this hotel above all others that we stayed in, while we were in Spain. We upgraded our reservation to a "junior suite" which was a VERY good decision. The suite was spetacular. The balcony was big enough for ten... more

Stayed at Tryp Ambassador for 2 nights (not consecutive) in August. Excellent location, 100 yards from Santa Domingo Metro stop (on no. 2 line) and 300 yards from Opera Metro stop (also on no. 2 line). Can walk to Opera, Palace, Orient Park, Sol Plaza, Gran Via, and many other places. Nice, fairly simple lobby, with nice (small) bar, and... more

Booked this four night stay through Hotwire, and paid only 75 USD a night. We had originally booked a hostel for the same price, but decided to give the four star, unknown offer from Hotwire a chance. Glad we did! The hotel is clean, the room was very spacious and the location is excellent. ¨Next to¨ the royal palace, royal... more

Tryp Ambassador is a great hotel, perfect location. We stayed in this hotel last week of July 2007. We were with 3 girls and got a big room on the first floor, we were very happy about the room: very classy and large. About the location, it's perfect situated, between the metro Opera and Santa Domingo. The staff were all... more
