The hotel is very good for its price. It's clean and situated in a very good area. The only problems are that the staff speaks poor English and that on the website the additional tax is not mentioned, so we were a bit suprised by the 6-7% added to the original price. (Maybe we didn't read something cautiously enough.) But... more

In Madrid airport, follow the red diamond sign to the Metro in Terminal 2 (T2) and at the ticket machine select your language from the flags at the top left of the screen. Pay 2 Euro for a single ticket and follow the signs to Line 8 and get a train travelling to Nuevos Ministeros. Go to that station (at... more

The location of this hotel, for the price, can't be beaten. It's very easy to get to it from the airport by metro, close to 3 stops. The staff there were polite and spoke English which was very helpful. The breakfast was very good; bread, cold meats, cereals and pastries. The biggest drawback is that there is construction work going... more

Stayed at this hotel last Augsut for 4 days. 2 metro stations just short distance away from the hotel. Either one takes you to a mainline station and gets you to the airport. You can buy a ticket for 10 journeys plus 1 euro per person airport tax. This ticket can be used by both people travelling!! Hotel just 5... more

Very well located hotel and as we were given rooms at the back it was very quiet. It helped that one of our party spoke spanish although i think staff did speak english. The rooms were basic, clean, and good sizes. I would stay there again. At the time of our stay there was work going on inside hotel but... more

Hard to analyze but here goes. Location is super- close to several good restaurants and Plaza del Sol in short walking distance. A 24 hr convenience store next door. Continental breakfast quite good. Clean, Spartan room but no wash cloths ang gradually less toiletries offered each day. Front desk did not seem to have a concierge and only interested in... more

Having read the previous reviews for this place I was a little apprehensive, though for the price I decided to go ahead with it. The reception staff didnt speak great English (though I found this in most of Madrid) but you got by. The hotel is a little grubby and in need of a facelift. The lifts look like they... more

I stayed at the Hotel Alexandra last weekend - Feb 7th to feb 10th. The location is brilliant as it is located just off of Gran Via, right near all the threatres. The entrance to the hotel was clean & average for a european hotel. We had booked a double room but on arrival were given a twin room &... more

Just got back from a four night stay at the Hotel Alexandra. I had booked everything through Easyjet Holidays and seeing as, in my opinion I got an amazing bargain (£140 per person) which included the flight and accommodation, I wasnt really expecting anything much from this hotel, however I was surprised. Reception area was very welcoming. I wasnt put... more
