We stayed at the Princípe Pío Hotel at a peak travel season (Easter). The location was very nice - close to the Royal Palace and an easy walk to the city center. We stayed at the Principe Pio for a weekend. It is ideally situated 5 mins walk from the Royal Palace and 25 mins walk from Prado Museum. The hotel is old and tired but you can see that it was very plush in its time. It is cheap and comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. more
