Getting there from the airport was a nightmare on the metro as you have to change trains three times just to get to Anton Martin and even then there is a 5 min walk. We stayed 5 nights the Hostal Dulcinea and it is a very convenient base for seeing the city as well as taking trips out of town, just a short walk to the Antocha train station and Avis. This hostal is cheap enough by Madrid standards, and pretty clean, but the walls are quite thin -- conversations next door could be easily heard. So easy that it was possible to hear somebody "shhushing" us when we were talking a little too loud one night. more
