I stayed here for a couple of nights and was upgraded to a twin at the back ,which was quiet and clean and comfortable. They have 2 lifts and one is not working. There are restaurants, bars and all the tourist attractions within 10 minutes walk. The price was a bargain for the location alone in one of Europes greatest cities More

A basic hotel where the noise from the street traffic is the only drawback. If you're a light sleeper either get a room away from the street or go somewhere else! More

We stayed here for two nights and apart from the lift breaking down on one day (five flights of stairs is a hard walk) we really have nothing to complain about. We arrived well after 11pm but it was no problem and the guy at reception was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very tiny but had a comfortable... More

We stayed in this Hostal for 4 nights. It is very central and close to all the attractions. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars nearby. The room we stayed in was small but very clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. However, as our room was at the front of the building overlooking a busy street, it was... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in a single room on 4th floor. The room was small with ensuite facilities. It was immacutely clean and had everything I needed. Bed was vey comfortable. The location is excellent - 2 minute walk from Puerto del Sol, loads of cafes nearby where you can get breakfast alongside locals. The staff were very... More

We originally booked a basic double room, but were upgraded to a superior double with a huge terrace- score! The balcony was big and such a neat feature. The rooms seem recently remodeled, and were clean and comfortable. It was on the 5th floor, apart from where the reception area was. The shower had about 8 water jets in it,... More

When you are looking for a hotel in the center of Madrid and you do not want to pay a lot of money than this is a good choice. A room on the street side means a lot of noise because of traffic. Take ear plugs with you. The bathroom is very small, but clean as is the room. The... More

I stayed here for 5 days and found it really well located for all the different sites around Madrid. My room had 2 single beds, and its own bathroom. I do have to say that the photos that come up when you look at the pop ups on this site don't look familiar at all. My room was absolutely fine,... More

I enjoyed staying at Hostal Astoria for a few reasons: (1) the location, (2) the room itself, and (3) the friendly staff. The location could not be better - it is a three minute walk from Puerta del Sol and from there just about everything is within walking distance (Sol is the heart and center of Madrid). With respect to... More

We came to Madrid for the Pride celebrations. This hostal was in a great central location, near to Sol. Easy to explore sights by foot or using metro. Loads of restaurants etc nearby. Madrid is an expensive city, but did not feel ripped off by Astoria. It is in the 4th & 5th floor of a building occupied by other... More
