We only stayed a night...If it would have been more nights I would have asked for a change of the room since there was a really bad smell coming from the toilet. I dont know if it was that the heater was on and it was old place but the pipes smelled bad ;maybe pipes in bathroom need a trap!!,... more

Hostal Tijcal I is right in the centre of the city in ‘Sol’ and so convenient for walking to all the major sights. The reception is on the 3rd floor up quite a dark staircase with a rather old and small lift. The room was tiny with the double bed filling most of the floor space, but adequate and clean.... more

The location (right behind Plaza Mayor in a pedestrian street) is hard to beat. My room was surprisingly quiet. The room itself was pleasantly furnished, comfortable and nicely sized considering that it was a single room. The shower was great! The only thing wrong was the tiny sink... The staff are really helpful, they recomend places to go and things to do, provide you with maps of the city and generally make life easier. For 63 pounds per night, we have a comfortably sized room for 4. On the whole, the staff were friendly. However, we had a room facing the main street, which is a little noisy esp. on sunday nights. Also, the basin was leaking and the toilet flushes continuously, which is a real pain when you are trying to get good... more

I would give it 5 stars if they were not fixing the place up with heavy machinery (A lot of noise @ 10 am every day, but that is what I get for being out until 6am) and the shower would not drain well so the floor usually got wet. The staff was great, the room was small but clean... more
