Puerto del Sol is under construction so you should be able to get a really good rate but the location and the quality, in the heart of Madrid, can't be beat and believe me I've tried on other trips to Madrid. Get an interior room if you want it quiet or are time-changing. Cafe is a great place to start... more

We loved this hotel. Great value for the price. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although they are not large. The beds are comfortable and we slept well. The location is the probably the greatest asset. Right on the Puerta del Sol and within walking distance to Retiro, Plaza Mayor, Prado, and... more

I emailed this hotel because I read that some rooms were noisy; they assured me that we would have a quiet room. Literally, we were on top of the Plaza del Sol and I did not sleep at all that night. When I complained, they did move us to a quiet room...but when I specifically requested quiet from New York,... more

Stayed for a couple of nights here in February 09. The location's great right on Puerto del Sol, and I had an interior patio room which was quiet, but it was very small (OK it was a single, but still..), it covered the bases - and not a penny more. It's a functional, well-located hotel, and if you're going to... more

We had a beautiful balcony room overlooking the pedestrian zone. (When the windows are closed, you cannot hear the noise below) It was very clean, airy, and has good beds. Fabulous location. I traveled with my sister and my niece and we felt safe walking at all hours of the night. The front desk staff is the best I have ever... more

When I vacation I walk everywhere and the Hotel Europa was a perfect choice for me. It's in the heart of everything, right on Puerto del Sol which is unfortunately under construction and behind ugly blue temporary walls. Major streets radiate from Puerto del Sol to every corner of the city and there's a subway stop steps away from Hotel... more

Diagonal across the corner is a Zara. There's a computer kiosk in the main lobby. Lot of people staying at hotel that are not with the tour group but with the Rick Steve tourbook crowd (it must be highly rated), but the best thing about this hotel is its location: it's right near a major metro station and close to... more

Just back from Madrid and Hotel Europa on our family vacation with our 10 year old twins. This type of hotel is just perfect for how we travel. The location was excellent. Near restaurants, shops, metros, grocery store, etc. Walking distance to many of Madrid’s famous sites. Felt very safe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is centrally located on... more
