We stayed in this wonderful hotel 4 nights. Got a great price from Expedia. The hotel was modern, clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. After travelling for several hours from London to Madrid we really appreciated how close it was to the nearest metro station(just a couple of minutes walk from metro station Toledo) and it only took... more

This hotel is located on a very busy street but is well sound-proofed. Good access to the metro and within walking distance of many interesting locations. The room was clean and quiet and good value for the money. The hotel has a restaurant which serves a buffet breakfast, but I only ate in the adjoining cafeteria, where the service and... more

I stayed at the Ganivet with my family earlier this year. We got a good deal on Booking.com but actully, the direct hotel prices ar also very reasonable. The location is very convenient- just a couple of minutes walk from Plaza Madrid and the subway station. It is ideal for sight seeing. If like us, your Spanish is also rudimentary, then... more

The hotel was horrific to get to on a Sunday lunch time. I suggest you wait till lunch is over before checking in. Staff were very ordinary, particularly one girl who served me coffee on the second day. Obviously her text messages were more important than anything in the world. Rooms are basic, clean and nice enough. Location is a... more

The rooms are relatively small, but they had cable with English-speaking channels. yeah! The lobby was nice and it is located close to a Metro and close to some fabulous Tapas restaurants (Almendro 13, Casa Lucas, Taberna Txacoli and more). more

we were in spain for 2 weeks and started our first two days in madrid at the ganivet. we booked through expedia which couldn't have been easier. check in was seamless, (there was some cat training at the front desk but it didn't really hang us up), the room was ready early as we got into town early in the... more

I stayed at the Ganivet Hotel in Madrid at the end of a trip thru Portugal and Spain. This hotel is located between the La Latina and Puerta de Toledo metro stations and is within easy walking distance of all the major tourist sites in Madrid. The hotel is in a newer building and the room was quiet but there... more

I used this hotel as my base while in Madrid and was satisfied. The price was good, the rooms were clean and good location. While the hotel rooms are a little spartan, its all you need if you are going to be out most of the day anyway. TV access is only CNN in English, which ended up being a... more

This hotel was higly recommended on this site and although I have no big complaints there are things that are worth noting. Toledo street is amazingly busy. I have travelled to some of the largest cities in the world, and this street was quite annoying. Even my 24 year old daughter said it was too much for her. Once you... more

First of all, a word of advice to all those travellers who expect every hotel in the world to be like the St. Louis Airport Marriott...Hotel Ganivet is not for you. To those of you who acknowledge and appreciate the fact that they travel a different continent...welcome to a great hotel in the heart of Madrid! A friend and I... more
