Booked this hotel based on reviews on this site and were not disappointed. We loved the location - very central and very buzzy in the evenings. The rooms were clean and totally adequate for a long weekend break. The breakfast buffet was also good. We had a room at the back and, together with the blackout blinds, had no problems... more

We booked the Ganivet having cancelled a booking elsewhere in Madrid after reading very bad reviews of the hotel we had previously chosen. The reception staff are friendly and speak sufficient English to assist. We were not disappointed. It is a new hotel so bathrooms clean and well appointed. Shower and hot water both good. Rooms are small- about the... more

The only reason I stayed at the Ganivet Hotel was that it offers an incredible value. I was able to get a spacious room for only 60 euros (tax included), and this was during the first week of June. The furnishings were very basic, but there was a small flat-screen TV and a mini-bar. The bathroom was clean and had... more

At very low rates (60 to 80 E each night), it's a GREAT deal. Very well located 2 blocks away from the Metro, 4 blocks away from Plaza Mayor). Very good room and bathroom. Don't miss the buffet breakfast! For an extra 10E you'll get the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Don't miss this hotel. more

Hotel Ganivet was a functional hotel, well placed to see the sights of Madrid. It has a cafe area which we found to be most convienient but the hotel itself is a little characterless. Fine for a couple of days sightseeing. more

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. It's in an excellent location - not far from the metro (when arriving, take the metro to Puerta del Toledo), near local shops and restaurants and it's actually not that far to walk into the centre of Madrid. Fortunately our room wasn't at the front of the hotel (see previous reviews) but... more

We stayed in Hotel Ganivet for 2 nights during our visit to Madrid. The hotel is excellent, rooms are nicely furnished and large. The position is very good - in the La Latina neighbourhood - walking distance to Rastro, so centre of bars, restaurants and night life. Moreover it is closely positioned to the metro station, that connects to centre... more

The Ganivet was a nice, modern hotel with helpful staff but the noise from the street was bad and when we arrived we could hear the man in the room next door snoring from the corridor. more

I booked this hotel for a 3 night trip away for my boyfriend's 21st birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay because of both the hotel and the city of Madrid! Price: I had quite a limited budget and as it was a while ago, I cannot remember exactly how much I paid for the hotel but with EasyJet flights... more
