I booked to stay in this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Everyone mentioned how good the location is, and it really is superb. Calle de la Abada is a quiet side street off Gran Via, and you literally are in the middle of everything. From the hotel its a 1 min walk to Callao metro and 3... more

We went to Madrid for a weekend and stay at this hotel. Its location is awesome!! We didn't use the Metro at all and just walked everywhere we want to. (Sol, Mayore, Retiro gardens, the palace etc.) The double glazed windows are doing the work, so the room is quiet. The service was great and the reception guys were very... more

Incredibly central _and_ extremely quiet. Only breakfasts are a bit cramped, and if you're not doublequick there's a chance the waitress will take your food away while you're fetching something you'd forgotten! But otherwise this is an excellent choice, really great value for money! more

This is a perfect location for tourist Madrid. A few metres to subway, Gran Via shopping, and only 10 minutes walk to nightlife areas, tapas bars, cafes, with lots of choice. The hotel rooms are typically European, that is on the small side, but comfortable, perfectly clean and good bathrooms - everything worked! Breakfasts were average and OK, bearing in... more

Rooms and facilities Having tried and failed to get a corner room on check-in, which according to the Lonely Planet guide, is the best type of room to get as they are larger with more windows, we settled for a room lookng out onto the side street. The room was an average size for a city centre hotel, with a... more

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and it was ok. The location is great (really good) and there is a large breakfast. The bathroom is very big and the beds were comfortable. It was a warm day in March and we wanted to open the windows for fresh air, but the windows only opened a few inches... more

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Rooms are small but very clean and the 2 sink bathrooms are excellent. Staff helped us change the time of our airport transfer for no charge. Breakfast was fine and the coffee delicious. An excellent capital city hotel.( as stated on other reviews the airport transfer driver got very lost and we spent a... more

Great position and a neat, clean hotel, Grand Via one block away, pedestrian shopping precinct as well is a block away. Could not fault this 3 star hotel. The meals were excellent, even stayed in for dinner one evening and were very surprised at the quality. Staff were efficient without being friendly, as some have commented. Our room was of... more

Great location only one block off Gran Via. Despite being in a pedestrian district, cab was able to drop us right at the door. Only 1 block to Callao Metro station and 3 or so blocks to either Gran Via or Sol Metro stations. All the main sights from the Prado to the Palacio Real are within reasonable walking distance.... more

What a fab hotel. 3 * but we stayed at a 4* in March and this was miles better. Right next to the main shopping area but not that close that it is noisy. Great access to Metro (SOL is the closest). I requested a king size bed when we went, don't ask don't get I thought. To my surprise... more
