We have just returned from Madrid[May 2013] and were very impressed with the hostal in terms of location, amenities and help and generosity shown us by the staff. Our room was comfortable, roomy[by European standards] and quiet even though our balcony over looked Carmen Square. What really sealed it for us was although check out time was 11am, because the room was... Hostal Acapulco is a great place to stay in central Madrid. Location is conveniently located in the centre of the city close to Puerto del Sol and two metro (subway / underground) railway stations. Rooms are clean and well cared for and furnishings are in good condition if a little spartan. Hostal Acapulco is located on the fourth floor of... More

Stayed here for three nights for a great price. Rooms were comfortable with windows that block the noise at night. Great location - walked to a lot of sights and the metro is not far. Staff were friendly. would stay here again.

We stayed here 3 years ago, and are back for our second visit. Anna and Marco are very helpful, and the breakfast "problem" is miniscule. We have a 4 cup coffee maker, and the room has a refrigerator. What more is needed? We just walked from El Prado to the Hostal. The location is perfect. Last night we walked to... More

My wife and I primarily spend our vacations out and about exploring and visiting local sites so our sole purpose for hotels is to find somewhere safe, clean, and comfortable where we can sleep and shower in our own private room and bathroom. We look for basic no frills places to stay that are centrally located and affordable. When we... More

For me, there were pros and cons to this hostal. the location was great, my room was clean and quiet and it had a fabulous bathroom with marble tile and a tub, but it was also depressing as it looked out on a blank wall about 2 feet away from the window. They offered all kinds of bathroom accessories, including... More

We had a great time. The Staff were friendly and helpful, good location, very secure, comfortable, plenty of room. Everything we needed. We had eurail ticket sent to the hotel and held them for 2 weeks for us - ready when we arrived. Personal emails from the hotel prior to arrival shows they care. Highly recommend.

Hostal Acapulco is a fantastic little hotel on a fairly quiet square steps from Puerta del Sol and a short walk from many of central Madrid's top sights. While we stayed there while the famous Javier was on vacation the rest of the staff was very helpful, calling a couple of restaurants to see about reservations and offering advice when... More

Stayed here for 6 nights total. The best part of the Hostal is Javier. He responds quickly to emails, is very helpful in answering questions on how to get to the hostal and on recommending activities/restaurants, and he definitely puts the customer's satisfaction first. I was very pleased overall with my interaction with him and highly recommend the hostal in... More

My sister and I stayed here with her son for 2 nights during Easter Week and found it very comfortable and convenient to shopping, restaurants and museums. The staff is especially helpful and kind. We received helpful emails from Javier with clear directions and a map prior to our trip. Unfortunately I came down with a bad cold during my... More
