This hostel provided my boyfriend and I with just what we needed for the week. It was very good value, and all the members of staff were friendly and helpful. The location can't be faulted, and we didn't find it too noisy at all, despite some of the other reviews. There were a lot of sirens, but after a little... more

This is a good budget option. Balcony was good. Staff were great. Security was good. Breakfast was good. Downside was that there was no kitchen for self-catering and the rooms were pretty shabby. more

The rooms were okay, but the shower cabine was small and the door to the balcony didn't really lock. The beds were comfortable, but you couldn't move, otherwise you would have woken up your roommates. The receptionist was very friendly, also at 3 am in the morning! breakfast was okay. location was great, you could go shopping, restaurants and MC... more

It's not the cleanest place I've stayed in and the walls/windows are paper thin. So the complaints about the noise level from the streets might be right, but who needs to sleep when you are in Madrid? Madrid is absolutely stunning and the nightlife won't let you go to bed before 8 o'clock in the morning anyhow. And believe me;... more

We booked our "3-beds with private bathroom" for the price of 21 euros per person, per night. We knew we didn't have to expect a hotelroom! The location is absolutely great, right above the metro exit Gran Via. It's right in the center of Madrid and we didn't have to take the metro once, because everything was attainable on foot... more

We chose to stay at Metropol after an excellent experience with their Barcelona counterparts (Centric Point Hostel). However, we were quite disappointed - there is simply no comparisson between the two. Metropol is dingy and lifeless, old and rundown. Our room (5 bed dorm with ensuite) was EXTREMELY noisy. Facing right out onto Gran Via may not have been a... more

Very convenient to find once out at Gran Via Metro station - look for McDonalds and just to the side is entrance. Reception is Floor 1 - like so much accommodation in Madrid, there are different hotels on individual floors of the same building. Reception staff genuinely friendly and speak range of languages. Lift access excellent - my son &... more

After staying in Equity Point in Marrakech which was fantastic, I chose to stay in another Equity Point establishment (Metropol). The experience was completely different. This hostel is extremely easy to find. you see it right away when you exit Gran Via metro station. The building has elevators which is helpful. However, the rooms are old. which is okay given... more

If you're looking for some cheap days in the center of the city. that's your place. In a fifteen minutes walk you can find yourself in El Prado, Plaza Mayor or Palacio de Oriente... at night you will nver find lonely since the street is really packed with prostitutes. It's a bit shocking if you aren't used to it, but... more

My husband and I recently travelled around the world for our honeymoon and this hostel was the worst one we stayed in by far... Firstly the staff do not speak much English at all, so it is very hard to communicate unless you know Spanish, our room was dirty (you couldn't walk on the floor with bare feet, it was... more
