this hotel is one of a kind for the design element. I am an architect so I decided to splush for 2 night here while in madrid. It's really fun and it's a "must" if design is your thing, but has very unpractical rooms and consider one can only see one of the 12 different types. The extras in the... more

The hotel is very unusual and beautiful! We could only choose a room from three different floors, so we coldn't get the one we really wanted. The room was amazing anyway! I expected it to be a bit bigger, but when you opened the WALL to the bathroom it got much bigger! The bathroom was clean with both a bathtub... more

11 floors, each designed from an other outstanding designer. I've been in the hotel in May for the 4th time, each time an other exciting floor and very differently designed room. I love them all! The hotel is located perfectly between the airport and down-town directly at the huge Avenida de America - but due to the perfectly soundprooved windows... more

We had planned to spend our last night in Spain, at this hotel, remember earlier honeymoons and play. It was difficult to choose a floor, because all the different designs looked enticing. We finally picked one with a good review, and all in white so that we could concentrate better on each other rather than on the decor. Getting to... more

I spent two nights on floor 7--all the walls are curved and everything is in black and red. Bed is circular but nicely firm. Hard to get ready when all your mirrors make you look like you are in a funhouse... I purposely wanted to stay here based on what I had learned from travel articles and other research and... more

we stayed also at the silken gran hotel domine at bilbao and loved it, half expecting the Puerta America would offer equal standard. the design was interesting, and it's like the Weissenhof Estate but all stored inside a single building. the design for each floor attempted to become a showpiece, and were all nice for taking pictures, but were they... more

One thing is sure - I have never seen anything like it before. This hotel is like a temple of design, the followers of the religion just need to adapt to the inconviniencies of the place. As for me the hotel doesn't deserve the 5 stars deluxe rating for it's service, comfort or food, but it certainly does for the... more

Went to Madrid on 27th - 30th Dec. The hotel amazin, we had the choice of 3 floors and we stayed on the 9th - lovely! Be aware not to set your heart on the top floor (12th) as this is the executive suites and to upgrade is 750 euros per night minimum! Lobby staff helpful, hotel spotless and in... more

I'm really not sure how I feel about this hotel. I was expecting something amazing due to having read up about it and seen the pictures. We found the car park ok and were given a choice of floors 3, 4 or 11 due to wanting a smoking room. This was a bit disappointing as i'd been keen to stay... more

Yes, the design is a very good reason for visiting this hotel. Fans of architecture have no other choice but to book here, plus there is Torres Blancas, the icon of Spanish brutalism two blocks away. Misfortunately as some reviewers already mentioned - the high-end in terms of aethetics comes with low-end (here and there) in terms of functionality -... more
