Not for vertigo suffers or people affraid of lifts, other than that a great place to stay. Large apartment type rooms with large bedroom and firm comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a basic lounge with two armchairs, coffee table, TV and fridge. Desayuno at 10 euros ( prebooked on arrival) surficed until our early evening meal at one of a... more

Stayed for 3 nights. Had rooms on the 16th floor with great views. Only used the hotel as a base so didn't use any of the facilities. So many great bars and restaurants to choose from within short walking distrance from the hotel. The rooms were clean if a little dated. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Great value for... more

Located fairly close to the beach and right on La Rambla St. Clean but small (like many European hotel rooms). You could probably find a cheaper hotel or decent hostel with a lot of the same amenities, but you could hardly beat the location. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful. more

I have to agree with previous reviews, we asked for a high floor, and ended up on the 23rd floor. We were here for 8 nights. View was great, we had a huge balcony and a separate living room, bathroom looked like it had been updated. The rooms were clean, but could be updated. The 'air con' was positively antiquated.... more

Wel my partner and I stayed here for a long weekend in Sept 2009 and were both delighted with this hotel. I booked it as it was cheap and looked to be in a great location, and we definatley werent dissapointed. The hotel in right along the front by the marina and literally 5 min walk to any shops bars... more

We used Alicante as our base to explore the Costa Blanca, and heard about the TGS's great location in the city. That is true. It's only a block from the paseo along the beach and marina, and near many cafes and restaurants. At over 20 stories, it provides a great view of the city (if you're on a high floor).... more

This hotel really does have amazing views. I have stayed here on 3 separate occasions as I love Alicante and this hotel is in a prime location. It is perfect if you want to explore Alicante and due to it been the tallest hotel in the city, if you ever get lost, just look up and you can always see... more

The Tryp Gran Sol is one of Alicante's few skyscrapers - and requesting a high floor certainly paid off. BUT beware: the lift/elevators were both out of action for a short while on one of our days there, and it was a long & tiring hike up & down the stairs (chambermaids allowed a family with kids to use the... more

This hotel is in one of the ugly Alicante buildings (of which there are many) but we had a room on the 15th floor - as suggested by other reviewers and I forgave it everything as the views were so great! We had a corner balcony, one side overlooked the marina and sea and the other the town up to... more

Stayed here 1-3 February 2008 and stumbled upon CARNAVAL !. The room consisted of a bedroom and sitting room and a balcony on 2 sides. It was on the 24th floor and the views were tremendous. No tea/coffee making facilities. One of the key light switches didn't work. The rooms were clean. Breakfast (buffet) was around 14 Euros but I've... more
