We had a wonderful time at Hotel la Trancada on Tabarca Island. We stayed there for 2 nights and while small the place is just gorgeous. It is a converted fishing cottage with only 4 rooms that have all been restored wonderfully. The island is very quite as it is a marine reserve and no cars are allowed. When we arrived at the hotel we were early and left our bags in the lobby and went our for lunch. We checked in later and went up to our room to find a mini bottle of champagne in an ice bucket next to our bed. The room had a large and very comfortable double bed and the only downside was that the bathroom was designed to not have a door! The lady who ran the place was very helpful but does not speak any english -- which is the same for the rest of the island. We found this quite refreshing! more
