Checked in at The Level lounge, Cynthia is a gem. Lovely tapas and drink offerings through the day. Our Grand Premium Level room on the 17th floor was very nice. Gorgeous Rituals shower gel etc in the bathroom, good sized towels and kettle/coffee maker made the difference and we loved the little surprises left in our room. Breakfast on the Level very nice and all in all very good value for money.

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is lovely and clean and all the staff are very polite , I could not fault anything the room was big enough and the bathroom was very clean . The pool area was fantastic and surprisingly big for such a built up area . We only stayed bed and breakfast so cannot comment on any of the meals except breakfast but all I can say is the breakfast was spot on so much choice and fresh even had prosecco so could make your own buck fizz . If I had one thing to moan about it was the bar in the main lobby we had a few drinks in there as we were going out for the evening or just coming back from our evening stroll the price for the same 2 drinks were different every time only by a euro either way but all the same very strange , the hotel is just a short walk from the beach and far enough away from the night life that it doesn't bother you . But I would highly recommend walking to old town in the evening 30 minute stroll and it's a different world

Arrived around 12.30 lunchtime and my room was ready. It was spacious and light , a good size bathroom with toiletries provided. I had a good view from the balcony I could see the sea .I was half board but 2 days I swapped evening meal for lunchtime meal , and there was plenty of choice at all meal times including breakfast. I would definitely return to this hotel . The staff were friendly and helpful

I have never felt so unsafe in a hotel. They have 0 night guards , security & nobody on reception at night. They allow people to walk in an out of the hotel as it’s a “public space” resulting in lads we walked home with to keep us safe getting robbed on the doorstep. They were all hanging round in the fire escape stairs which are directly outside the room I was staying in. One of our girls saw a man standing in the hallway in the dark when she came out from her room and he ran down the fire escape door. And when we came back from dinner we’d found our rooms had been broken into with marks all up the doors that wasn’t there beforehand. After numerous complaints and the staff not caring about our situation we eventually got a new room. Which we had to stay up all night terrified of what might happen to us - security was asked to go up and check our rooms and they never did. The manager of the hotel didn’t seem to care & told us “ it’s not illegal to be mugged in Spain” which is a blatant lie. Personally believe it’s an inside job due to the lack of help and not one apology for the horrific service. We could see from our balconies where they were hiding in bushes etc and the guy in the supermarket opposite was also assisting in grabbing people - so I wouldn’t be surprised with the way they were aloud to so casually hang round in our lobby that the hotel wasn’t being paid off. Don’t visit

Dear Madam, First of all, thank you for choosing our hotel for your visit to the city, although we regret that we were unable to meet your expectations. With regard to the above mentioned facts, we regret once again that you have suffered an unpleasant situation and that it has not allowed you to enjoy your stay. We would like to mention that we have 24 hour security at the hotel, although this has different types of functions and is available at all times to assist guests, where of course if any violent situation occurs, once it is detected, as is obvious, this will provide customer service. The same can be extrapolated to our colleagues at the reception, who are working 24 hours a day, where of course if they detect any problem, they are always on duty. Although you have to understand that they may be performing other tasks such as check in, answering the phone or assisting another customer and unfortunately have not been able to observe the alleged events that occurred. Finally and as we indicated to you, in Spain a private establishment cannot see the cameras without a prior complaint to the police, as they are the ones who by protection policy can see it; and where the complaint has to be presented by the person or persons who have suffered the incident. Once again we regret that you did not enjoy your stay. Kind regards, Fran Nieto, Guest Experience

DONT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE Friday - Checked in Friday was all ok other than being given a room key and told to wait till we come back from lunch to go into it as was being cleaned to then be told there was another room we need to go to because the tap was broken. Went into the new room conveniently placed oposite the fire exit that leads down to the twirly stairs outside, didn’t think anything of that and went to the strip walked home happily with no issues Saturday night- went to the strip only 3 of us left as others went back early and we got followed from the red lion from men coming out the supermarkets on the way back to hotel they then started running after us so we ran back to hotel screaming and nobody at reception no security guard in sight so we went into the lift the people followed us and got in the lift next to us and we ran out our lift and into hotel room and decided that we would now get taxis Sunday night - we were walking to the strip and the man in the shop oposite hotel was filming us we thought he was just being Pervy so just kept going we went out managed to make freinds with a lovely bunch of stags who we’re staying in same hotel told them about the night before to warn them and they told us they’d walk us back so we did , we got all the way to the hotel doors and the men jumped out on us and mugged us , these men were in our hotel already and was 6.45am in the morning there was people with suitcases waiting for the transfer bus who whitenesses this happen too! The people on reception said there’s nothing they can do about it and that the police can’t do anything about it so I complained and said why arnt the security at the door ? It’s a automated door you do not need a key for so literally anyone can walk in without being stopped We counted our blessings because the boys got us out the way of them so we were safe and decided for our last evening we would stay in and just go for early dinner Monday evening - One of the girls opened the door to the room and thought she saw a ghost because the hallway was pitch black and she saw someone standing in front of her so we all laughed about it and carried on with our dinner When we came back there was crowbar marks on our room and our other room was wide open , upon coming back to the room there was a lady around 40 with a backpack on dressed in normal clothing who kept panic texting someone and we only realised later that in fact she was giving them the heads up that we were on way back to room We then complained and ask for new rooms packed our stuff and stayed on another floor none of us got any sleep as laid awake scared the hotel reception told me he can’t deal with it tonight because there was nobody speak English .. I phoned reception from the new room an hour after and his English was pristine so that was also a lie we then proceeded to watch people getting mugged all night from our balcony on the road of the hotel and we also watched 3 men dressed in black come into the hotel pool area so called reception and told them to remove them Tuesday - Woke up and went back to old rooms to check we hadn’t forgotten anything as packed in a rush only to see the black fire exit doors wide open , so they obviously tried again throughout the night We then had 3 hours till transport back to airport was booked and finally the manager was there , she told us it’s not the hotels problem if the room got broken into and I’d need to phone the police I also Told her that they followed us into her hotel and some of them were already in the hotel she also said there was nothing they can do about it as the hotel is a public place she also told me it’s not against the law to mug someone on the streets of Spain, I did ask someone else to clarify from a bar close by and they said she was lying , went back to hotel told her she’s a liar and she said call the police then? We had 15 min till our transfer was coming so obviously didn’t have the time Wondering if this is almost an inside job due to the convenience of the lack of staff when we got followed and the lack of care given about it They also have no water in the inside jacuzzi or the outdoor pools , we sat outside sunbathing with a digger driving past us , we are all unwell we have had only 8 hours of sleep for the whole 120 hours we were at this hotel I’ve been to this hotel before 4 years ago and had the time of my life hence asking my friends to come for my hen weekend I also saw a few negative reviews however this is honestly the scariest thing we have all been through and we will never ever go back again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on your most recent stay but I am sorry that you were unable to fully enjoy your visit to our hotel. Honestly, we are surprised by what you report in your comment as we have never had any report of this situation. I would like to clarify to you and the rest of users, that our hotel has 24h security staff as well as reception at your disposal for any problem that may arise. Our hotel is a private property that can only be accessed by guests and after reviewing all the cameras, this type of situation never occurred. In case of any problem outside our establishment, we recommend that you go to the police to file a complaint, although in this case you preferred to go shopping. As you will understand, Meliá Benidorm cannot control the behaviour of people outside our establishment. Once again, thank you for your time. Sincerely, Fran Nieto, Guest Experience

DO NOT GO TO GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!!! Staff don’t care who goes into the hotel & no security Word of advice do not go if you have no partners. We went on a lads holiday & right outside the hotel we got things robbed, as we was on the balcony we could see men hiding in bushes waiting for their next victims. There was a group of girls staying on the 10th floor & as they’ve gone back to there room there was marks on the door like someone had used a crow bar to try & get in!!! No cameras anywhere the hotel. Hotel is definitely letting these thieves in & feeding them information when people are not in the rooms!!!

Absolute joke. I booked a family room for this hotel but want to upgrade to a suite. The suite is available 3 out of the 4 days so I went about trying to upgrade. Firstly, I rang the international line who said that they cannot edit the booking so contact customer service. They said email customer service who did not reply. They then said to email hotel directly no reply. They then said to ring hotel internal reservations, after an expensive phone call and speaking to someone 3 times I ended up being put through to the international line who I spoke to initially! Absolute joke, no possible way to speak to who you need to, the company have got lost within itself. Waste of my time!

Arrived late on Monday evening 19th Feb. Check in was slow and considering there was only 2 of us dropped off, wasn't the best of starts when we were asked if we had already booked and if it was paid for... We booked through TUI and they had no idea and weren't expecting us. They also took all of my wives details although I'd booked it in my name and should have been recorded. Bar still open and food available that was actually made fresh ( ham toasties and fries) - good service from the bar but had to ask for menus. The room was actually really nice, yes the headboards need replacing as the leather has lots of wear and tear but good space, spacious bathroom with a radiator which was unusual but nice to have to dry towels and swimwear. No drying rack on balcony but this may be due to being out of season. Pools under renovation and lots of noisy construction round the hotel that starts at 6am and doesn't finish until sunset so some days it'll be around 12 hours a day of drilling and heavy machinery. Not the best as you cant sleep in! There is a games room but nothing to do for kids. The beds are so hard! I like a firm mattress but they hurt your back. Not the best sleep. Bath towels in room are amazing! They fit so nicely without you having to be size 6 for it to wrap around. Food is good, plenty of choice. Only gripe is not enough choice of drinks. Some mornings they had a few juices out to choose from and others nothing but water and coffee/ milk. The service is also terrible, some staff will offer drinks and others don't. This isn't helped when only a select few are all inclusive and many others are only bed/ breakfast etc. The manager who oversees is also rude and not very welcoming. Indoor pool is OK for swimming if you can avoid kids. Life guard there but no rules so they'll just splash etc so trying to do lengths is impossible.  Good opening times though as open 9am to 8pm. Grounds are pretty, place is clean. Very spacious hotel. You'll get your steps in.  Entertainment is low key with singers, start too late though at 10pm. Bar staff majority are friendly. Some reception staff friendly.  Only maybe 2 in restaurant are welcoming. All cleaners we saw are friendly and say hello. Wasn't happy with the 100s of teenagers/ sports teams that took up most of the space and also around 400 Spanish OAP women turned up on our 2nd day ( Spanish WI) and literally took over the place. We couldn't get in to eat lunch most days because of them. No where to sit until they were gone. They had no note of it being my birthday and this wasn't acknowledged so communication lost somewhere from prior calls. Overall nice hotel but not designed to be an all inclusive place. Good base, good location but just not as expected. Also really angry that we did not touch any of the mini bar and confirmed this on check out, yet when I got home they charged my credit card without permission... also shouldn't have when I never signed anything. It was my card details, wife signed in upon check in. No explanation what the charge was for! Will not be staying again as this tarnished an okay stay. Without this, without the noise and with access to pools outside I may have rated another star.
