Just returned from a week in Italy, stayed 4 nights in the Rubino hotel, at least that's what we booked. When we arrived they told us our room was just outside, and down another street, then we were taken to the Blu Hotel and given rooms there. We booked bed and breakfast, well.... we were told we had to go to the" travel cafe "for breakfast, which was out unto the street and round two corners. There we got one cup of coffee and a jam croissant handed to us in a napkin and that was breakfast.The cafe was crowded and we were lucky to get seats.
On the more positive side, the place was clean although not very spacious (we had a triple room). There was air conditioning and the staff were friendly.
Rubino is centrally located which is why we booked it, and we paid 120 euros nightly but they gave us discount 450 euros in all.
So if you are looking for a cheap hotel that is central in Rome and don't mind "light" breakfasts, this will do. After all you will...
