This hotel is located about half way between the old town of Valencia and the Port area and is also very close to the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias. There's a bus stop directly across the road from the hotel, and metro stop about a 10 minute walk away. This is where the good points end. The... more

I really can't understand why this hotel has bad reviews! Myself and my partner stayed here for a few days and it was really nice. The hotel is in a very convenient place which was close to the centre with it's sights, shops, restaurants, and nightlife, and practically on top of the beautiful park and new Ciudad de Sciencias. It... more

The hotel is not in the heart of the city centre but when arriving by car this is in fact a bonus. A major plus with the hotel is that there are a limited number of parking spaces adjacent to the property - 12 euros per day, which is well worth the money. Distance-wise, the hotel is approx. 30 mins... more

What a shabby place. I should have been worried when they asked for full payment at the start of our stay, some 3500 euros. The receipt stated 'no refunds'. I wished I had seen the rooms before I had made this payment. I had booked three rooms in September for the 'Fallas' and found most hotels were booked up for... more

We had originally planned to stay 3 nights, but were so disappointed we ended staying just one. The first room we were offered was a smoking room, which smelt very stale, so we relocated to a ground floor room. The decor was ok but dated and there was a general feeling that some refurbishment was due. The pool was closed... more

I think the Kris Consul del Mar is best described as an ex-four star. The decor as you walk into the hotel is impressive; a lovely carved wooden arch, with a lounge on the right and restaurant on the left. On the walls of the corridors are reproductions of old maps, which are an interesting feature. On first glance too,... more

I had a terrible experience at this so called 4 star hotel, started off with bloody sheets and cockroaches in the bathroom. We had no hot water for 2 days and the staff were not interested, said we couldn't be moved as the hotel was full, also our 18yr old daughter had to sleep on a fold up bed even altough we were promised... more

The hotel is distinctly average. Its Ok, I have no real complaints if you manage to get a good price for it (we searched on loads of websites and the price ranged by about £15 a night) go for it. If you are looking for something really special don't bother. Location wise its in a bit of a no-mans land.... more

small but nicely decorated room (and only 85 pounds for 2 nights, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz!). swimming pool is small, but I had it to myself, and it was very enjoyable. there's also a free sauna next door to the pool, and heaps of fresh towels. the hotel restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. unusual and delicious food,... more

We have just returned from a 6 week holiday in Spain and France - wonderful!! We arrived at this very comfortable hotel a bit stressed as we had just been victims of a crime. The staff could not have been more helpful - contacted the police- English speaking, so we could file a report. After arriving in the city (only... more
