we stayed for 3 nights and were given a free ugrade on arrival. The hotel is immaculate and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only gripe I would have had was the air conditioning in the room was not cool enough, you had to call reception to turn it down. Overall Matera is a wounderful place to stay and... more
The hotel is a converted monastery, recently opened and literally right in the garden of the Cathedral. It is not very easy to find (even with satellitte navigation equipment) and we would have been completely lost without the help of the locals. We felt that signs pointing the way to the hotel were urgently needed for those arriving by car.... more
