We heard about Ulisse from our son who had been back packing around europe 2 years ago and he thought this was fantastic compared to the other hostels he had stayed at in his trip and suggested we should stay there as it is really a hotel. Although we usually stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel we thought... more

We stayed a week at the Ulisse. Sorrento is the perfect base for exploring the Campagnia. (Capri, Amalfi coast, Pompei, Herculeneum, Naples). The Ulisse is in a convenient part of Sorrento. (We paid 18 Euro for a taxi from the train station and later walked it in under 10 minutes.) Our room was a decent size. It was comfortable and... more

We had read good things about Ulisse, but it still surprised us with how great it was, especially for the price! HUGE rooms and bathrooms, clean, helpful staff, good enough location. We had trouble with wifi reception, but other than that, highly recommended. A taxi will cost 20 euros to go almost anywhere in town, but Rick Steves warned about... more

We are a mother-daughter (ages 62 & 32) duo doing Italy over 2 weeks in October 2009. Finding the hotel was difficult for us, as we were trusting Rick Steve's Italy guide which let us down big time on this one! You can take Via Corso straight down and then take the steep stairs down after the hospital on the... more

Thanks to all the great advice from TA's, we booked four nights here at the Ulisse Deluxe "Hostel" and a great choice it was too. Well located, though I think we did get tucked on the 20 euro taxi charge from station (!) but hey, we didn't know where we were going, but soon realised that the hotel is only... more

We stayed there in sep 2009. Its equal to any 4 star hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful. Its only 10 mins walk from the train station. Th loby is huge! The room given to us was actually a quad with a bathroom which is big even from american standards. It was clean and well kept. Had a flat... more

This is a great hotel for the price you pay. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the rooms are big and nicely laid out. Overall we had an excellent stay. Our only criticism of the hotel is the tiled floor, which can be noisy (...inconsiderate guests, you know who you are...) and we were sometimes 'rattled' by the cars in... more

What a great find! The Ulisse is more like a 3+star hotel. It is clean and new with nice breakfast available for an additional 5 euros per person. The price can't be beat. The only negative we might have is that it's a 20 minute walk from the train station & SITA bus stop for Amalfi. However, it is within... more

I could not believe my good fortune when I arrived at this so-called hostel. Ulisse is located very conveniently so that you can walk to any place in lovely Sorrento. The Via Caesare, a narrow pedestrian lane lined with stores, churches and restaurants, is literally within a 2 minute walk. The staff was knowledgeable and enthusiastic while sharing tips on... more
