The hotel is for old people. The rooms displayed on the internet are much smaller. We were given twin beds which were put together. The air conditioning was not available. The mini bar was non existant. The view from the small balcony was good. The room furniture was old. Not suitable for a special occasion. Pool good but 6 Euros... more

Hotel perfectly situated in the centre of town with wonderful views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Disappointed that the air conditioning is only available from mid June to October otherwise they would turn it on for a fee (Euros 10 per night). Another negative was the cost of sunloungers at the pool - Euros 6 per day and... more

My wife and I have just returned from the Carlton International having spent one week there. We were very impressed with the location of the hotel and our view from the room. However, there were many aspects that we were unhappy about. Firstly, there was no air conditioning or refridgerator in the room, despite the temperature outside being 30 degrees.... more

We stayed at the Carlton for a week in early May. The season was just getting started so the hotel wasn't over busy but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We found the hotel, in terms of both the bedrooms and the public areas, to be very clean and the evening meals were excellent. Breakfast was a bit basic... more

This is a great hotel to visit the Amalfi coast. We hired a car in Naples having arrived from Rome by train. DO NOT DRIVE IN SORRENTO or the surrounds. Italians have the attitude with driving that they must get where they are going as fast as possible and never mind any highway code, road signs or other road users,... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in May. We think it's rather expensive for what you get. Good points, clean room , good location, close to centre and bus and train station and shops and restaurants. Pool area looks very nice, although did not use it. Bad points, shower in bathroom not thermastaticly controlled as when is... more

My family have used the Carlton for more than 15 years - however we have not stayed there for 7 years. The last time we stayed there the suite was 300.000 Lira or about 185 Euros - now the tiny room for three is 240 Euros - although they discounted it to 190 - asI believe the Carlton and Italy... more

We stayed here for 1 night as part of an overnight tour from Rome to Capri. Our room was okay and the view from our balcony absolutely breathtaking. The decor needs modernising, and it could do with a fridge. The staff at dinner and breakfast were extremely funny - reminding us of "Faulty Towers". The meal was very acceptable and... more

My wife and I stayed at the Carlton International for a week at the end of September. Our initial impressions weren't so good - the decor in the lobby seemed rather old and in need of an update, and in general it didn't seem like the 4 star hotel it was supposed to be. However, the place grew on us... more

The only thing good about the Carlton International was the location to town. Thank God for the location because you want to make a quick exit each time you have to spend time at the hotel. We booked this hotel because we were looking for a place with a pool so that we could relax in between all the different... more
