Recently stayed at the La Badia Hotel, Sorrento, whilst on a Riviera holiday. The hotel was lovely - in a quiet location overlooking the Bay of Naples, with clean attractive (and good-sized) bedrooms, excellent service, friendly staff - would highly recommend it. more

La Badia is beautifuuly set ,high on a hill above Sorento . It is a small family owned hotel with friendly,helpful staff . It is in fact quite charming.However whilst breakfasts were excellent the food at dinner was awful!!Stay there and enjoy the pool, the olive groves and the ambiance but dont stay for dinner.!!! more

We stayed here at the end of their season with Riviera Travel and it 'did what it said on the packet!' A very adequate 3 star (by Italian standards) with super service and attention. Location was great - on top of hill overlooking Sorrento. 10 minute walk down to Sorrento - but 20 minutes back for most people. All staff speak English and are friendly without being familiar. Stayed here for a week as a base for sightseeing in the area, well positioned for visiting Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum etc. Hotel itself is charming and comfortable, but let down by poor food in the restaurant, lack of hot water when showering and awful towels.
