Stayed here while family had congregated in Sorrento in various hotels for a wedding/holiday. My brother and his wife to be, stayed in the Grande Capodimonti which we visited in awe but when we went back to Sorrento City we were quite happy as it was more central and less fussy. Even thou the rooms were not huge, they were... more

I arrived at the Hotel Sorrento City completely through a series of unfortunate events. I had a reservation elsewhere in Sorrento and there was no one there to let me in. After hours of frustration and stress trying to get into my bed & breakfast, I gave up and wandered around near the main piazza (Piazza Tasso) to see if... more

My wife and I and another couple travelled throughout Europe in September 2008. We stayed in Sorrento for 2 nights at Hotel Sorrento City - what a great find! Literally 5 minutes walk from the station and right in the main street. Fairly recently refurbished in a modern style, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast was great,... more

On our return visit to Sorrento we decided to stay at Sorrento City (was full last time we visited). It's location in the heart of Sorrento (around the corner from the Circumvesuviana and a short block away from Piazza Tasso and all the best restaurants in town) is absolutely perfect for a base while in town. Roberta and her staff... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in mid-April and I highly recommend it. We are a family of four, two children aged 11 and 7 and we found that we had enough room for the four of us in the room without feeling cramped. The rooms are exactly as shown in the hotel's photos and are very clean.... more

Nothing is too much trouble for Roberta and her staff and all done with good humour and a smile! We have just returned from a 7 night stay and had a great time. It's a no frills hotel but what they do they do extremely well and if you want a base for exploring the area it is ideal! more

The location is hard to beat - right on Corso Italia - the main promenade at night and steps away from the buses and traines (as mentioned in other reviews) making it a convenient, if no-frills, base for exploring the area. The room we stayed in was definitely 3*, no more - not a place for a honeymoon :). Hotel... more

Just returned from a great 3 night stay at the Hotel Sorrento City. This small but well placed hotel is a great place to base yourself while in Sorrento. The Ladies there do a amazing job of taken care of their guest! The receptionist from Poland (name?) is a gem of a person and was more than kind to us!... more

I'll start with the positive, the staff is extremly friendly and very helpful. The location is a few steps from the train station. Negative: 1- the walls are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING everyone is doing. I think I had honeymooners next door (do I need to say more?) It was very embarresing since I was traveling with my... more

We chose this hotel because we wanted to be close to the train station in Sorrento, and it was a good choice. Plus points: 5 minutes to the Circumvesuviana station, where you can get trains to Pompei (and then on to Vesuvius), and buses to the Amalfi coast In central Sorrento, close to all the sights and the great restaurants... more
