Pros: - By garibaldi/centrale stazione, great for transport links all over Napoli. Also situated by Alibus stop for easy access to airport. - Clean and comfy bedroom, door double locks, windows let no light in during the night. Cleaned every day. - Easy to find Cons: - As a solo F22 traveller I felt uncomfortable when the hotel receptionist asked if I was married or had a boyfriend, then he wanted to take me out on his scooter. Was not happy with this interaction especially being alone. - Staff don’t really speak English, so learn some Italian before you go. - Planes fly overhead and can be noisy, however this stops around midnight - Piazza Garibaldi is not the cleanest or quietest area so I would recommend staying somewhere else, however I had no trouble here and did not get pickpocketed like others say. Just be aware of your surroundings and ensure any pockets and bags are closed. - Hotel itself is very noisy from 6/7am, you can hear every door open, the cleaners talking loudly, anyone in the corridor moving too which is disruptive. Also at night I could hear the hotel staff talking from reception despite being on second floor. - 7€ breakfast is not worth it, go travel into the city via the station and get a proper breakfast. Don’t buy food or anything in the station as it is overpriced and not great quality. - Key safe did not work which was a concern

Situated by the central station the area is not the best, but the hotel is ideal for a city break and the staff are very helpful. We stayed for seven nights and found it to be a great place to stay to explore Naples, Pompeii, Ercolano and Amalfi coast. The room was fine, cleaned daily, with mini fridge and en-suite. Breakfast was typically Neapolitan croissant and espresso, but rolls and yoghurts and cakes were also available, overseen by the nicest gentleman, Ciro. In fact all staff were great if you took the time to talk to them. We have stayed in a lot worse hotels for city breaks around the world and would recommend here to anyone that wants to feel part of the city.

Do not stay here. Total scam. I came here on a family trip to Italy and we had three rooms booked for one night before leaving for Sorrento. Once we arrived at the desk, the man at the desk told us our rooms were in a different building and walked to a hidden apartment over 5 blocks away! He took us into what seemed like an AirBnb in an apartment building, with NO signs of anything related to the hotel, and asked us to fill out separate forms instead of anything with a computer system. We immediately questioned him and left because this was clearly a scam to use an AirBnb. Not worth the risk of getting scammed using this hotel!

Worst stay ever! First we were told that our room was not ready for check-in until 6PM. Then coming back from dinner at 9PM a carpenter is working in the room and we are told to wait another 40 minutes for the room to be cleaned ! With two small children half asleep we finally get the room only to find out that it is still under construction - no shower head, painting on the doors, furnitures half stacked in a corner, electrical cables sticking out of the wall. On top, the room to the street is extremely noisy! Just stay away from this place.

This was an ok hotel 10 minutes walk from the central railway station. Service minded staff. The hotel was a bit worn out and could do with a face lift. Ok room and bed. Good and rich breakfast. There is no elevator in the hotel. Luckily we had one porter that carried our heavy bags up.

The small hotel very close to the Central railway station, Porta Nolana station (for Circumvesuviana trains), metro L1 and L2 station, The area around hotel is not very nice, lot of garbage and run down buildings, but in our 3 nights stays we have no safety issues. It is walkable to the old city (900 m to Via dei Tribunali) with lot of restaurants. Take into the consideration that is a really basic hotel without higher class amenities, but it is clean with lovely staff. We have small room without any view (only to run down inner yard), but room was noiseless with functional air conditioning unit, clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The breakfast was better than I expect - not only italian type, but more likely continental with ham, cheese, boiled eggs ang good selection of pastries. If you stay longer time in Naples for sightseeing, buy the Campania artecard for free entries to the museums and public transport. We appreciated it very much.

I booked through Booking.com for this and a number of other hotels on my trip across Europe. I have had no problems with 5 other hotel bookings but Hotel Garibaldi cancelled my booking two days prior to arrival citing that my card had been declined however my bank confirmed that it had not and that they had not attempted to take payment.

2 night stay. We are two students. First room 304 was a disgrace. The room was in a strange anex to the main hotel. It was small with chipped and damp walls and the bathroom stank. There were frayed towels (rags) layed out for us. It was not like any of the beautiful pictures on the website. We complained to reception. The Hotel moved us to rm 106 in the main hotel. We were promised a "newly refurbished room". It was not. It was worse than 304. It stank of cigarettes, filthy and the shower was broken - it flooded the room. It was terrible. Reception refused to share manager's email for us to contact them. The hotel has not replied to our two emails since. Do not go here.

Nice clean room with everything you want in it. Quiet even if it is in the heart of the city. We came very late but the staff arranged it so we could come in the middle of the night. If you’re going to Naples this is the place to stay. The breakfast that includes is the Italian style😁 An espresso and croissant. It suits me but don’t hope for an full American or English breakfast 😁

Please do not be put off by the surrounding area, yes there is a lot of people sleeping on the street, there is also a lot of street crime but this hotel is run and managed perfectly. English is a slight problem as no one really speaks it, and why should they, you are in Italy. Very practical and traditional hotel with practical very clean rooms. Maybe an updated bathroom will be on the cards in the next year or so but nothing to complain about. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The staff however really make this a great place to stay. We wanted more pillows, we got more pillows in seconds, we wanted glasses to drink out of, we got glasses to drink out of. Now here is the bit that really got me! Having read previous reviews, we were really looking forward to breakfast. This is served on the 2nd floor by an older guy who speaks no English at all. Breakfast was what was left over by other guests and included a hot drink, juice and sweet pastries and cakes. Not what i would look for in a breakfast. My disappointment must have been written all over my face and the gentleman serving was obviously quite put out that i didn't eat anything. He summoned his colleague from reception, who spoke a little English to find out what my issue was. I explained that it was no problem at all and i had expected something different, maybe some meats and cheese or something. He and the other gentleman were repeating the word "salade", apologising and then speaking in Italian. The more they spoke the more frustrated the gentleman behind the counter was getting, purely because of his passion to do a good job. The following morning i went downstairs for a cigarette and there was a different guy on reception, despite never seeing him before, he appeared to know my room number and subsequently what had happened the previous morning. When i came back into the hotel, he enquired whether I was going up for breakfast to which I declined, explaining that the local breakfast wasn't really what I eat. With a wink of an eye, he exclaimed "I think you will be surprised". Intrigued I encouraged the wife to join me for a coffee at least before embarking on what was going to be an eventful day of visiting Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii. OMG! The joy on the gentleman's face as I entered the room, with a high 5 greeting, the biggest smile you will ever see, pointing to bread, meats and cheeses while repeating "salade, salade". This really is customer service at its best. I hope the Management appreciate the efforts and the willingness of all the staff to ensure that every guest is catered for.
