Location is great: we had limited time, but walking distance to the Pompeii scavi and easy access to the Ercolaneo station on the local "circumvesuviana" train to visit Herculaneum made the logistics a breeze. Friendly staff, clean rooms and nothing touristy/gimmicky. For a big glass of red wine we paid only 1.30 Euro!! What a contrast to most other places... more

We decided to stay in Pompeii to get an early start at the ruins. The new town is OK but the circumvesuviana railway scavi stop is just by the ruins and we should have stayed in Sorrento 30 mins away. It is worth noting you can only get to Sorrento from the Scavi station (about 2km from centre) and not... more

We fully enjoyed our stay at Hotel Iside. The room was wonderfully air-conditioned and even with a roll away bed comfortably spacious. The bathroom was nice as well. We particularly enjoyed the couple who ran the hotel. Truly Italian, they went out of their way to help us with our time in Pompeii. Their English was not as fluent as... more

We had wanted to stay at a different hotel but it was full when we tried, even though it was 2 months in advance of our travel date, so we made reservations for this one instead. This hotel is located very close to, but off of, the beaten path. The view from our room was of some dilapidated buildings and... more

I stayed at the Iside for two weeks whilst excavating the ruins. It's in a great location and the rooms and bathroom (although a little basic) are immaculate. The front gate and door are secure and on a buzzer entry so felt very safe. Franco and Sylvia (and their family) made me feel very welcome and served a fantastic breakfast.... more

Hotel Iside is an okay place to stay if you are not too concerned with any luxuries. The walls had no decoration, and the room was very basic. It seemed clean enough. We arrived in Pompei late at night and it was a bit unnerving trying to find the hotel. I would definitely try to arrive during the daytime. The... more

We spent 2 nights at the Iside and it was a very pleasant stay. the receptionist's English was excellent, and the staff's demeanour was very pleasant. The room was nice, with a balcony, air conditioning and an all important Mosquito screen over the balcony doors. Breakfast was a ham and cheese affair with bread and croissants and tea coffee/red orange... more

Family run hotel, very friendly, helpful staff. Room with balcony, view of Vesuvio, efficient a/c (not at all noisy at night). Secure gated parking. Fresh breakfast with excellent service. Pompeii scavi just up the road, wear sensible shoes and take plenty of water. Herculaneum (Ercolo), more impressive if you can find it. Vesuvius, short drive away, and there was actually... more

Excellent little hotel within close proximity to the ruins and the city centre - 5-10 minutes walk. Very friendly welcome from reception who willingly provided advice and maps of the city and the ruins. Very clean, good sized room. Nice breakfast. Excellent value for money. more
