To Sylvie: Thank you for being a fantastic host and source of information. This really is the best run and most homely guesthouse we have ever stayed in! We shall definitely recommend you to our friends and get in contact should we ever return. To TripAdvisor Readers: If there's a room available when you're in Rome, you owe it to... more

Trastevere is truly the heart of Rome. To get the full experience of Rome, this is the place to be. From the guesthouse, you can walk to the local fruit stand, butcher, or pasticceria. There are so many restaurants within the area and it would take you forever to eat at every single one. Plus it's close to Ai Marmi... more

Maria-Rosa Guesthouse was a perfect place to stay. Sylvie the owner is a mine of information about where to go and how to get there. She was a very gracious and friendly host. Comfy, sweet guesthouse in the middle of Trastevere. Syliva is a gracious, kind and helpful host. She is full of good tips on site seeing, shopping and restaurants. The neighborhood is my favorite in Rome. more

Our stay at Maria-Rosa Guesthouse made our visit to Rome that much more enjoyable. The bed was perfect and the bathroom was great. All the necessary amenities were there and within walking distance to the major ancient Roman ruins. There are plenty of food eateries close by, as well as tram and bus services. Sylvie had much to offer with... more

We had a great time in Rome and largely that was because of Sylvie's great suggestions and advice. The apartment was very charming and the rooms were a relaxing spot to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and everything of interest was easy to access via foot or public transport. The... more

Cozy and quiet room on a side street in this charming neighborhood--if you want to be away from the noisy, touristy sights this is the place to be--yet it is still close to everything. Sylvie is an excellent source of information. She knows transportation routes, is knowledgeable about art, and can tell you where to get the best slice of... more

I stayed here for 3 nights over Sept and Oct 2009. Maria-Rosa Guesthouse is a perfect Rome home from home. Loved the flat and loved the old streets of Trastevere. Sylvie was ready with advice on where to visit, and maps showing the best places for gelato and pizza. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. more
