I wanted to stay near my daughter's school in Monteverde (where many college semester abroad programs are located), and I somehow found this through google or craigslist. Well, it was just a wonderful find! It's actually a large apartment with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one on the hall and another right inside a double room), a living room and a full kitchen, so you could either rent just one room, as we did, or all 3 rooms if you were a family or a small group. Hardwood floors, LARGE (I think king) beds in two of the rooms and a single in the 3rd, and plenty of light. And Chiara, the owner, a law student, is absolutely lovely, warm and hospitable.... and Valentina the housekeeper is just wonderful, too. The apartment is spotless and well-furnished, and the (1 euro!) bus stops literally just around the corner on the way into the center, and right at the door on the way home. Much quieter than right downtown, with lovely hostesses! more
