The lobby of the hotel grand if rather antiseptic. However the lifts, corridors etc are rather tired and could do with updating. Also, the public areas were not well maintained - cups and glasses were left around for long periods of time. Our room was rather dark and dingy altougjh we had a lovely exrernal balcony (without this the room... more

This hotel has a stunning exterior and a great location. The room was huge but it felt old and unwelcoming. The staff were fine but not particularly helpful. Breakfast was not included in the rate. It was an expensive hotel and I felt that it wasn't really worth the cost. more

Great hotel! We very much enjoyed staying here and the location is perfect. My only issue with this hotel was the breakfast area. It was set up in the conference/ball room...round tables with conference chairs. It felt like I was away on business. We didn't eat there because of this. However, everything else was really nice. more

Upon check-in we were given an upgrade to a room that has a balcony that overlooks the rooftops on Via Veneto. The room was very clean and spacious. The upgrade was a very nice suprise. The only issue with the room was that the balcony was very dirty and looks as if it has not been washed down or swept... more

We had reserved a room for 2 nights with points to unwind before a cruise on 8/15. We reserved one room and although we had 2 children they allowed us to book one room. European hotels are a bit sticky when having 4 people in one room. The room was large and clean, it was a little like staying in... more

Redeemed my room on points so can't weigh in price, however, this is a Great hotel! Service was excellent, both at the front desk and the concierge. Hotel is beautiful and the room was enormous and beautifully appointed. I can't imagine how someone would be disappointed with their stay. Less than a 5 min walk to the subway and within... more

I attended a conference that took place at the hotel and I have to admit that I'm a bit biased against the location. Personally I think there are many better locations in Rome than Via Veneto, which I consider not very charming and in no way conveying the real athmosphere of Rome, meaning I probably would not have chosen the... more

The hotel is in a terrific location. When we checked in the hotel was at 100% full and very busy. We had a beautiful room with a nice marble bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with down pillows. Our windows opened up to an inside courtyard. We ordered room service every morning and the service was very fast and courteous.... more

My husband and I stayed at the Westin Excelsior for 4 nights in early August, 2009. I wanted to stay at a grand Italian hotel. It was a mixed experience. The lobby certainly lived up to my expectations and I had no complaint about our room. We stayed in the basic room and it was very comfortable. I was worried... more

Stayed for three night in two rooms with a connecting door which created a nice suite. Rooms we large with a terrific terrace. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nicely appointed and quite large. The four of us could have stayed in a single room. However, simple things were not done. If a light bulb burns out change... more
