We just returned home from a two week vacation in Italy, with the final 5 nights spent at the hotel Grand Ritz in Rome. First the good things: The hotel is situated in a decent area with the Metro downstairs, which allows good access to most areas (as long as you are ok with some walking, it's fine). Some restaurants... more

After the ride from hell from the airport and then to be ripped off by the cabbie just for the fun of it, he over charged us by 25 Euro's total charge for a near death experience was 80 Euro's........ So first impressions of Rome were to say the least not very good. Finally arrived at the hotel the surrounding... more

My partner and myself recently stayed at this hotel and it was fantastic. The staff members were great, the breakfast was suitable and the times fitted our schedules. The bar was a nice looking room and it was quiet were you can have a nice conversation over drinks. The room itself was of a good standard, with nice décor. The... more

The Ritz is NOT children friendly. That's why I love it so much. That's why I will go back again and again. Americans often forget that "children" is not a recognized religion in more civilized parts of the world. Bravo, Ritz! and Bravo Europe! We Americans have a lot to learn from you! more

One month ago, I had a great holiday in Italy. Although I was not so much keen in this country, my partner and I had a last minute decision on where to go! I would never believe that Italy would fascinated me so much, we've seen almost all the destinations of the country. Stayed in Rome, Florence and Venice, Italy... more

When we arrived we were suprised to see that the same amount that got us a closet-sized room in other cities got us a suite at the Grand Ritz. Although it was far from major sites we were able to get taxis that were set price (less than 30 to and from the airport). Besides that, travel was easy since... more

Stayed in July 2003, no complaints at all, first time in Rome and the staff were helpful. Rooms and facilities were excellent Location is quite a way out from the main sights but once you get your head around the metro system it is quite easy, quick and cheap to get around. The nearest metro station is just around the... more

We did find our stay pleasant and the hotel is suitably located near the train station for easy access to the city and a fantastic hot plate restaraunt called the Piazza Eclude opposite, this made our stay more bearable because the staff were rude, unhelpful and frightened the kids by yelling at them when they saw them on their own.... more

In our two weeks in Italy this was our worst experience -- in fact in thirty years of traveling this is one of the worst ever. Our room on the seventh floor (the elevator only goes to the sixth and it is a long haul to the seventh) was tiny. It had neither a desk, nor a chair, nor a... more
